SSAtlantic Posted April 8, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 8, 2018 I have purchased Travel Guard Gold insurance numerous times in the past without ever making a claim. I did not immediately purchase insurance for an upcoming cruise as we were not sure we would be going. It is now a definite, so I was planning to purchase as usual, but started reading more of the "fine print". I have elderly parents and am questioning if I had to cancel for their illness, would I be covered. Of course they have existing medical conditions-they are 90! If necessary I would of course cancel anyway, but was wondering how family member illness was covered. Thanks for any input.
klfrodo Posted April 8, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 8, 2018 Non traveling immediate family members are included when it comes to pre-existing medical conditions. So, if you had to cancel for one of them AND their condition is/was determined to be a pre-existing medical condition, then your claim could be denied. js Posted April 11, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 11, 2018 Thank you for this thread. My dh's 94 year old grandmother is starting to show signs of her age and just had a mini stroke but home. We are going away in August on the Allure. I am trying to find insurance for us but not sure what would cover a 94 year old non traveling grandmother. We didnt purchase insurance when we booked and final payment is due beginning of next month. Ill look into insuremytrip and we have purchased travelguard in the past. Hoping I can find something in case my we need to be home. We are traving with 19 family members on my side of the family including my mom and sisters family so hoping we purchase and dont have to use. Thanks all. A lot of you seem to be ignoring the fact the the OP is worried about a pre-existing illness of a family member and not of the cruiser.
