Just a couple of blocks up from the water taxi is the Southport Shopping Center. Plenty of free parking there. Hopes this helps.

Actually, they tow on a regular basis.

Parking is expensive and a PIA in Fort Lauderdale. Signs are everywhere that they tow and they do tow.

Park in metered parking and pay.

Parking in shopping centers and office buildings is not public parking...it's for visitors to the businesses within.

we have parked at Southport several times and often for 3-4 hours and never had a problem. There is another shopping area between it and the bridge that does restrict parking and has sinew to the effect. Last time we were at Southport was last January so things might have changed since then. Parking for patrons, wife always manages to spend a fair amount of time as well as money in Ross's and we usually end up eating at Panaretho's

They do tow and you've been lucky. I saw two cars towed there yesterday and the shops and restaurants were closed.

I used to own a home on Cordova so was in and out of those shops all the time.

Don't park there unless you are shopping.
