windjammerguy Posted February 20, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2018 does anyone know what hotels Regent uses in Barcelona? November sailing!
Travelcat2 Posted February 20, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2018 Later this year we are taking a Regent hotel credit and will stay at the Eurostar Grand Marina Hotel (5*) which is close to the port and easy walking distance to everything. It was less money than our hotel credit and we'll use the extra money to take a cab to the ship. We have stayed at Duquesa de Cordona - a 4* hotel with some of the nicest people running it that we have met -- just charming! It is also in a good location - is not fancy and it is suggested that you ask for a quiet room (we did and it was fine). I'm not familiar with the hotels that Regent uses but do know the area that we prefer being in.
briar14 Posted February 20, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 20, 2018 For our April 4th Mariner cruise, Regent has us at Hilton Barcelona, Avinguda Diagonal. We have also stayed at Hotel Arts, right on the water, very contemporary, wonderful, wonderful staff, a Ritz Carlton property.
UUNetBill Posted February 20, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 20, 2018 They put us up at the Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos I a few years ago - nice enough property but quite a ways out Av Diagonal. The last few times we were at the Meliá Barcelona Sarrià. Better location there, and they run shuttles downtown. It’s still a good 30-35 minute walk to Plaça de Catalunya but like I said, they run shuttles and the taxis are cheap enough to get around.
gjkov Posted February 20, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 20, 2018 For our April 4 Mariner crossing our included hotel is the Grand Hotel Central. Looks like it’s close to many interesting things!
GrJ Berkshire Posted February 20, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 20, 2018 Last summer we were at the Melia Sarnia, a pleasant hotel well away from the centre near the Nou Camp football stadium. Breakfast was good and an excellent restaurant called le Patron about 10 mins walk away.
tripperva Posted February 21, 2018 #7 Share Posted February 21, 2018 This summer Regent is using Rey Juan Carlos, a good but commercial hotel. It is near the beach and pretty far away from everything.
EAGLESLOVER Posted February 21, 2018 #8 Share Posted February 21, 2018 On our cruise last fall Regent used several different hotels. We were at the Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos. We unsuccessfully tried to change to a better location but we booked relatively late and were unable to do so. It was very far from everything but since we booked a private tour the morning of embarkation its location for one night did not really effect us. clasater Posted February 21, 2018 #9 Share Posted February 21, 2018 Check out the Hotel Alma. Great location and incredibly friendly staff. Easy walking to many sites.
