evandbob Posted July 10, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2018 https://www.msn.com/en-us/travel/video/couple-in-hot-water-for-stupid-stunt-on-st-martin-beach/vi-AAzNUiO I think some of the comments were just as idiotic as the stunt. IMO, the main danger is to the couple from the jet engines blast, that's how a previous casualty occurred. It's usually the blast from the takeoff as well, not the landing, but the blast back could still have knocked this couple over. Posters saying the wheels could hit the couple or the couple was putting the planes passengers at risk are preposterous.

kcamp317 Posted July 21, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 21, 2018 I think the camera angle and perspective makes it appear as if she's much closer to the plane than actuality.
jerrib Posted July 22, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 22, 2018 I've seen many planes land at Maho and they are never as low as this picture makes it out to be. Relax. Think of it this way, do you really believe all those tourists are actually holding up the Tower of Pisa?

Think of it this way, do you really believe all those tourists are actually holding up the Tower of Pisa? Normally true, but I was there a couple of years ago(and was taking video) of a plane that really was very close to too low...I would say it was about 5 feet above the heads of the people (and that is NOT an exaggeration!!)...even in the video I make a couple of comments (and might be a bleeped word or two) about how low it was!
