fstuff1 Posted December 6, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 6, 2017 (edited) i just called the # on the certificate and got this info: if i dont take any of the 'free' cruises listed (even to upgrade my room), i can use the certificate as $550 trade in value towards the regular price. but there will ALWAYS be a 100% single supplement if going solo, even if NCL's website says there isnt any. thats the 'terms and conditions' for taking the $550 trade in value. you will always have the single supplement attached to it. :( now, if im going solo and stick with one of the listed 'free' cruises, here are the fees: $20 per day Admin fee + port fees/govt taxes so a 8day to the mexican riviera for a solo is: ($20 x 8) + $185 = $325 Plus i'm assuming the usual $14/day tips (if non-suite/haven) + 20% service charge on whatever the promo(s) at the time of booking Edited December 6, 2017 by fstuff1

Shidah Posted December 6, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 6, 2017 Still a pretty good deal. I just booked one as a bi-annual benefit, which are not as restrictive, in spring 2018, but upgraded that to the Haven since I have my daughter coming with me. So, yeah that one got pricy. But then I booked another from NCL CAS using one of the listed cruises and dates on a mailer, also spring 2018, to go alone for a week of r and r. Can't beat a cruise, with the UBP drink package, for approx $375.
fstuff1 Posted December 6, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted December 6, 2017 the person i talked to yesterday was partially wrong about the $550 credit. he said that ANY changes to the free cruise, including room upgrade, would revert the certificate to a $550 credit. and single supplement would apply. i just booked a 8day cruise and upgraded to balcony for $400 extra. no single supplement. apparently, upgrading from Inside to Balcony is just a flat $400 per person fee. Nelsj099 Posted December 8, 2017 #6 Share Posted December 8, 2017 My casino offers come directly from CAS. I called them about the millionaire maker slot tournament offer that they sent me today that included a free room. I was unable to take that cruise because of the dates as I am a teacher with unflexible vacation time. However, when I asked for a balcony in the Medateranian she was able to do that comped no problem. I only paid insurance, admin and port fees with a cruise next certificate it came out to 49.95. I love the Med. so calling about a western Caribbean can always turn into cruising the Med with a balcony.
oliver033 Posted December 8, 2017 #7 Share Posted December 8, 2017 If its worded as "Single Supplement" than its possible to find a cruise with a supplement of less than 100% including zero :)
