Best beach with clearest water and good snorkeling

Hi! It's been a few years since we were in Cozumel. My friend is coming with us on our Horizon cruise, and she said she wants to find some clear, "pretty" water. We went to Chankanaab before, but I can't remember how clear the water was or how the snorkeling was. Can anyone weigh in? We are open to options and suggestions. ;) Thank you!

Chank is going to have better snorkeling than any beach south. Money Bar and Sky Reef will have equally good snorkeling but smaller man made "beaches" and rocky shore lines. As to Water, you're on the channel side and the clarity of water depends on the current and weather. Calm days no recent storms might produce clearer water than stormy days or days just after storms pass.

Chank would be my choice if you were cruising with kids - sea lion and dolphin shows, small beach and separate snorkel area, but a $20 admission fee

Money Bar charges no admission, offers good facilities and lockers, and good snorkeling from the shore plus good food/drinks/service.

Taxi for 4 will be about $11-12 each way to either - check the fare board for your peir for current fares.

What I have done was to go to The Money Bar 1st for snorkeling and then taxi down to Paradise Beach for a nice beach day.

We've done the same - 1-2 hours of snorkel time, a round of drinks and some nachos, and then off to a beach club for the rest of the day. :cool:

I would say Money Bar is your best bet. Get out along the buoy line - the water is 20-30 feet deep there but there are a few small coral heads there with critters.
