the one lady posting the most info went there after another tour she was on...

In the thread it was mentioned that you can take a taxi.

There are several mentions of independent taxis taking people to Tabyana or some other part of West Bay Beach. Tabyana and West Bay are the same beach.

Often times people take the Tabyana Beach excursion from the ship instead of a do it yourself taxi... the thought is the price is not much different and the shuttle back an forth gives persons more options on when to return to the ship.

As far as price and distance..it depends on where your ship is docking and what route the taxi takes.

Also, from what we understood while there, you need to enter there at Tabyana (since it's the free area and the others are kind of an AI that you can rent their space)...but that's the way to get into the beach and then just go explore.

Snorkeling was good, but they experienced several days of rain prior to us going there, so it was a little cloudy. We did find the more we went out, the better it got.

we are docking in Roatan, on RCCL,, just booked a private tour since it was cheaper than the ship excursion to the beach :)

Sorry, I had the names of the places confused. Correcting myself...

I think I stand corrected...it is Bananarama I believe. :eek: :confused: Crap, I think I'm thinking of the people we were talking to that were with us at the same place that kept calling it Tabyana. I know it was just right past Infinity. But either way, it was still right there on west bay and was still free. But I do know it's where the taxi's take people to drop them off and let them in to the free access to the beach. It is free with the amenities. :)

I just looked at the maps I have with all the names listed, I do believe it is Bananarama. Sorry for the confusion everyone and thank you so much for correcting me guest 2000. I appreciate it.

So, anyone wanting to get into West Bay for free with public access, restrooms and a shower...go to Bananarama. :D
