edit:

ahh.. seems like the caesars 10% discount tier doesnt get drink cards anymore.

but diamonds (20% ncl discount) and above still get the drink card

Yes, that is at least what I read on here.

What am I missing? If you were to book an inside (as a solo) wouldn’t most of the time you still be required to pay for two people anyway?

Past practice was that CAS would waive the solo supplement when booking with them.

It was the main reason I took my solo trips with them--(interior cabin ).

UPDATE....here is reply from the rep

"This is an across the boardrule, not you.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks again"

:mad::mad::mad:

For those who are interested, I decided to reply to the rep/agent ..as seen below..I know it means nothing to them...but made me feel better.;)

Thank you for the clarification.

I doubt I will ever sail NCL again as a solo. This change in policy makes it way too expensive for me to cruise alone which was a wonderful thing for me as my husband does not gamble. It is sad that CAS has taken away a very nice incentive for us and I would not be surprised if as other solo gamblers find out about the change there will be complaints. I do realize I am not a “high roller”..but I am sure there are those solos who are and they, and others like me who are not, cumulatively spend a lot of money in the casinos.

I just now converted my booking for the Epic November 24 sailing from a standard booking in a Studio (t1) to a midship Inside cabin (IA) on deck 12. No single supp and a 20% discount, and drink card, no comp since it’s an 11 day I guess and I won a lot on my last sailing.:halo:

The very first thing he said when he (name starts with a T) pulled up my booking was “we don’t deal with T1’s so I’ll see what else I can get for you”.

This was just like 10 minutes ago at the regular CAS number 1-877-752-9625. I don’t know why they are giving some people these random “new” rules but I would call back and talk to someone else. Unless it is based on low play as some have suggested then I guess you take what they give you.

I am happy for you.....!

But as I said..her reply when I asked if it were due to my play was

""This is an across the boardrule, not you.

I hope to hear from you soon."

You've heard from several people here who had very different experiences. Several have suggested you call the main phone # and talk to a different rep. Why don't you?

I booked a distinctive voyage last night as a solo no supplement. They said they would comp an inside I asked about an upgrade to a balcony. The first rep said it would be 2000$. Fortunately for me we got disconnected. I called back and got a different rep who gave me the comp on the room and charged me 700 for a large balcony midship. I do have a sapphire card and that cruise was based on play not an existing offer. He also told me I have an offer for a 5-9 night comp with tips included and 100$ towards and listed some options. I don’t get my mail from CAS and was still told about the offer. I still get a drink card. I am not booking using a Caesars play tier. But this rule does not apply to all.

I do agree that you have to call and speak to different reps. I am not a high-roller by any means, but cruise often and spend a lot of time in the casino. When I fist called to book my March cruise, I was only offered 10 % off, when I called the next day, I received a comped inside and upgraded to a Haven Spa Suite.

UPDATE--call CAS..(on hold 45 minutes till picked up!)....my exchange with man who answered (after he checked my name) ..

ME---"can I book an inside cabin as a solo with no surcharge?"

HIM .."of course you can . you can book anything from mini suite down ""

Well...now I feel so much better....AND am quite annoyed with my "regular rep" who told me on phone and via email the policy was studio only !!!

Thanks to you all for pushing me to call and ask someone else;)

Now after I do some research ...I will call back and and hopefully get the same rep --I asked for his contact info..and he said..no (no need) ...just call back.."there are 8 of us here"..

LATEST UPDATE...from OP

Well...life got in the way..but today I called CAS to book. I very nice young lady picked up and I just inquired about an October cruise I was watching..She could not have been nicer. I did NOT relay any of the conversations I had with my (now fired by me ;)) rep and she just gave me the cost breakdown on the inside cabin I requested and I booked it! Bonus of this call is I had a general idea what it would be..but it came out less..so I asked.."is that with the 10% discount (which my former ;)rep said I would get) and she said.."no..20%" :D
