On demand TV system on Sapphire Princess?

As a follow up, were the TVs on the Sapphire also upgraded to the larger 40” screens as well? Just curious, since the Ruby’s system hasn’t been updated yet.

Yes, they were installing those during our January 2014 cruise before the Sapphire was deployed to Asia.

what exactly is the On Demand TV system on Princess?

 

If the Sapphire TV system is the same as on the Royal & Regal then you will be able to choose from menus of movies and TV programs. You can also start a movie then pause it if you need to do something else and restart it when convenient.

It is very popular with passengers and may be responsible for people spending more time in their cabin and less time in a lounge running up a drink tab. That may be why the system has not been rolled out on any more of the older ships.
