MJN1 Posted January 15, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2018 Appreciate any input (pros/cons) on the following remaining PH cabin choices: - 912 first upfront next to bridge - 915 other side, next to elevators -1015 first upfront AND next to elevators -1025 in the "back" w/ "obstructed view" We usually prefer Deck 9 vs 10 and are leaning towards 912. Not keen on elevators on one wall of cabin and concerned about the "obstructed view" from the balcony if you pay PH-premiums... Thanks for any watch-outs/pointers! Roxburgh Posted January 15, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 15, 2018 We have been in 912 before and it was absolutely fine. 912 is a good location because you are close to both the Sky Bar and the Observation Bar without being right on top of them. You are also close to the elevator without being next to it. If you like to use the Spa and the gym, you can walk across to them without having to go up or down stairs. We have never been on Deck 10 but I am told that the veranda is a bit smaller due to the curvature of the ship.
RustyRollock Posted January 15, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 15, 2018 Deck 10 PHs can also be affected by noise from the Observation Bar. I'd go for 912 too.
Los Angeles Cruiser Posted January 15, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 15, 2018 Just recently stayed in 1025 on Sojourn and loved it. Was quiet and close to everything and the deck was actually bigger than in the other PH cabins so the obstructed part was not an issue as it was an extra area. I'd take that one. DC Traveler244 Posted January 16, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 16, 2018 We were in 1015 on a holiday cruise a couple years ago, and I'd had concerns about its proximity to the Observation Bar and the elevators (it was the only PH available, so we grabbed it). We were never bothered by elevator sounds. In the evening (cocktail time and post-dinner), we sometimes heard a faint buzz of conversation, but it wasn't bothersome. The OB closes promptly at midnight, and we found that guests didn't congregate in the hall outside the bar, or around the elevators (even on NYE). So, while this suite clearly isn't ideal, it's not bad.
MJN1 Posted January 17, 2018 Author #6 Share Posted January 17, 2018 Dear Fellow-cruisers, many thanks for the detailed and fast replies. This is why I love CC! "Boss" decided on 912 as she loves Deck 9 for its proximity to ships venues. Deposit made.
Kauaijim Posted January 17, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 17, 2018 We were in 1025 for last feb. Santiago BA antarctica trip . Great location in every way, The so called partial obstruction came in handy as it can shield you from precipitation when outside gawking at Icebergs !
