How to book excursions that are priced “per vehicle”

Have never booked an excursion that is priced per vehicle vs per person. Does anyone have any experience? I want to make sure everyone gets booked without accidentally paying double or booking twice the number we need. Specifically, I’m looking at the mini jeep excursion on Curacao.

The Curacao Mini Jeep Adventure and Beach CUB9 is actually two people per Jeep. Possible that you could book only one person for the Jeep, but that is going to be close to $400 and you would need to book one person twice. Don't think the web site will let you do that but you might be able to call and get it.

But general rule for things like cabanas is that you only book one person on the excursion for up to six people. In the rare case like this that books by the group the excursion description tells you to book only one.

I don’t think it’s $400 per jeep - I think it’s $200 per jeep, and it holds two people. It’s $150 for 2 people to book directly through their site but I figured it’s worth the extra money for the transfers. Is it really $400 per jeep??? I thought since it says price is per jeep that it’s $199 whether it’s one person or two.

Prices on the general Royal shore excursion web page show per person, not per vehicle:

Prices starting from:

*199.00 USD (Adult)

*199.00 USD (Child)

*0.00 USD (Infant)

I can't see what is available for your specific booking and prices are often different for each cruise. The 8 passenger CUB1 Range Rover tour (although they call it a Jeep) is $94 per person, so I can see how yours could be $199/pp.

If you really can get it direct for $150/2 people I would do that and ask how you get to the meeting point. The bigger vehicles usually load right in the bus area near the ship. Smaller might load elsewhere due to logistics of bringing 10 vehicles to the ship area. Wouldn't surprise me if they had you show your reservation to the driver and take the same bus.

I’ve been searching on the web and the closest info I can find is for Princess where it says to only book one person when the tour is priced per vehicle. I’ve emailed rccl but i May call if I don’t hear back soon because the excursion sale is through the 24th.

I looked at a similar excursion recently in another port. The main description made it sound like it was per vehicle) When I read "Important notes" it stated that if you wanted to drive alone you had to purchase two tickets. Check the full description to be sure.

This is what I see in important notes:

• Tour is booked per vehicle, not per passenger.

• Each Jeep holds two people.

Hopefully that means it’s $199 per jeep. I’m going to call in the morning because I haven’t heard back from my email yet.

Think others are correct, need pay for 2 if riding alone...

Let me clarify...I want to make sure it’s $199 per Jeep, not per person. There are 10of us and we need five jeeps. We’re willing to pay what is essentially $100 per person, but not $200 per person, or $400 for one Jeep with two people in it.

Wow I believe your looking at the EXACT same excursion im looking at and was very confused by it. i re read that excursion like 10 times to see if i was missing something and it only says booking is for one jeep not per person and that it holds two people. when i go to book and put number of passengers it costs 2x the price. Let me know what they say

I emailed the shore excursion email Saturday morning, but because of weekend I haven’t heard back from anyone yet. I just called and he said I am correct, to only book five people for five jeeps and it will cover ten people. I will feel better to have this in writing but meanwhile I’m going to book while sale is still on!

Sarah, you should be ok with the advice from Shore Excursions. You are seeing a key difference from what I see when I look at the generic site:

• Tour is booked per vehicle, not per passenger.

I just see a price per person, not this phrase.

And even when I have seen the "book only one person" comment in the past the RCI website wants you to enter all then names and charge multiple. You would think the reservation system would know to only charge for one, but it doesn't. Had the opposite problem on Allure TV - thought I had bought two tickets but only got one in the room.

Make sure you print out the tour description and take it with you.

Haha - I had the same thought about printing everything and taking it with me. Thanks.

I booked this exact excursion

You just book for 1 adult

When the ticket arrives in your cabin it says on it "Covers 1 driver and 1 passenger" or something similar

Thank you! Can I ask how the excursion was? I couldn’t find much feedback on it. From what I could gather, it’s a good excursion from a slightly unorganized company.
