4th of July at sea...

We will be on the Grand this summer, sailing to Alaska and back from San Francisco. The 4th of July is going to be our last sea day.

Has anyone sailed on the 4th before? If so, was there anything special to celebrate? (I can’t imagine a 4th of July without fireworks, but I’m preparing myself.) Is it possible that they might have something festive happening because of the holiday? I’m just curious...

We are going to be on the same ship. I must admit I wondered briefly about fireworks but by the last day on a ship full of Bloody Mary's I think there will be enough fireworks exploding inside my head.

Don't forget July 4th is a United States holiday, no one else "celebrates" it. They just put up a few decorations to acknowledge U.S. passengers. The same with Canada Day, July 1st, we don't "celebrate" it here in the U.S. As a side note, other than states bordering Canada, I'm sure the majority of U.S. citizens never even heard of Canada Day.
