Allure Embarkation Day Lunch Question

This will be our first time on Royal Caribbean and we are traveling with two kids under 4.

Where is the best/easiest place to get lunch on embarkation day?

From prior experiences on other cruise lines the buffet is usually very crowded especially with all of the carry on baggage people are wheeling around before cabins are ready. Is this the same at the Windjammer or is there a better place to go?

Are specialty restaurants open on embarkation day? If so, is the cost of eating there included in the deluxe dining plan?

Thanks!

Here is a recent Cruise Compass which will show which venues are open for lunch on embarkation day:

I had always read the Central Park Cafe was great on boarding day, but I found it to be REALLY crowded.

Yes, if you don't get to Park Cafe right after boarding begins, then it's best to wait until after staterooms open.

Central Park café is the best. Go with the roast beef sandwich.
