Tracyjj0 Posted January 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2018 (edited) I'm booked, and fully paid, on The Horizon in Europe this April. I'm travelling with my husband and our 20 year old son and we're booked in to an 4B interior cabin, down on deck 1. (I know we will cope okay with that, and our son is mildly autistic so we need him to be in the same cabin as us.) I've heard on various forums that the 7 day European sailings still have lots of availability and wondered if anyone has any advice about the possibility of us getting a bargain upgrade? I really don't mind interior, as I find I sleep very well in them, but would ideally like my son to not be on an upper bunk - anyone know which cabins would have a sofa bed or such, without breaking the bank? I will probably phone Carnival, but thought I'd ask here first so that I know what to ask for :) ETA - I booked direct with Carnival, paying in British pounds, if that makes any difference Edited January 21, 2018 by Tracyjj0 add info
tppeach Posted January 21, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2018 Yes you can upgrade by calling carnival... it's in the FAQ page somewhere, but that's how I had to do it after I paid. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

sandy toes Posted January 21, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 21, 2018 Give them a call. They will allow an upgrade and they can suggest which cabins have the sofa bed (Safer getting into and out of in the dark for the bedroom). Most, if not all, oceanview cabins will have a sofa bed. All balcony cabins will. Deck 4(main deck) and above will have less engine noise when trying to fall asleep. And you should not hear the anchor when docking in port early in the morning while still sleeping.
Computer Nerd Posted January 21, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 21, 2018 With cash in hand and availability you can always upgrade.
Bobbysjack Posted January 21, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 21, 2018 We love the ocean view deluxe rooms on deck 1 and are booked on the Horizon in April, too. They are only slightly more expensive than an inside. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Tracyjj0 Posted January 23, 2018 Author #7 Share Posted January 23, 2018 Thanks all :-) I phoned Carnival, with a set budget in mind, and I bagged myself a Cove Balcony! Much happier with that, than worrying that my 20yr old son would fall out of the top bunk bed!
