Vista, great cruise

We just hopped off the Vista yesterday. This is our second time being on her. We sailed out of Barcelona on the 4thsailing back in May of 2016 when she was brand new. We are seasoned cruisers, been on most all of the commercial lines afloat.

This time we booked a Havana cabana cabin (last timeFamily Harbor), deck 5 balcony room 5201, the one at the very end of the row, closestto the louver doors keeping other passengers who are not cabana residents out. BTW, no noise from any band, bar or elevators. Amazingly very quite.

First, Havana has been talked about already, but I mustadd, this is the only way to cruise. What a treat to have our patio, pool area literally, just steps away. Ibooked this cabin 6 week out, so don’t give up the ship, keep checking if the Havana experience is something you really want. It was worth every penny. BTW, no noise in the cabin from any band, bar or elevators.

Internet, we had 1 highest and 1 mid-priced plan. Yes, both a bit slow, but not to the pointother passengers have reported on. Noissue with internet, email was fine as well as You Tube for my daughter.

We did not eat at the dining room, only specialtyrestaurant:

Steakhouse, thevery best on the sea. New menu is just great, yes we missed the cheesecake, but we got it elsewhere, no deal breaker forthese steakhouse lovers. The Wagyu isthe bomb. Oysters under glass were enjoyed as well, very unique presentationand taste. Went there 2 times and tasted most of the new menu. Very enjoyableand worth every penny.

JiJi, themost underrated restaurant on board. This place again surpassed our expectations, again. The pork belly isthe best. The care that is taken with each presentation is noticed andappreciated. Flowers out of mushrooms, green stuff that’s to die for (don’t know what it is, but is great). Servicewas spectacular. The sad news therestaurant was mostly empty each time we ate there. Please go, spend the small amount of money and be enchanted.

Cuccina, NEWMENU, some dishes are inspired, some remain Olive Garden like. Homemademozzarella appetizer and the shrimp main course inspired. Again very good, service was great as well.

All restaurants were willing to accommodate my husband’slow salt/low fat/whole grains requests with no issues, just a bit of per planning.

IMAX, was awesome. We saw the Justice League. What a treat.

The ship was full, which seems odd for mid-November.Overall condition of the ship was fine, service elsewhere on the boat was verygood. No real issues at all.

Embarkment was easy, but the lines to get off this boatwere LONG. Not carnival’s fault, but thefault of our US Government for not providing more agents to accommodate theamount of folks on this ship.

Taxi to FLL was $75.00. Yes, we did UBER on the way down, but getting off the boat was chaotic, so we just hopped in the taxi line andwithin 2 minutes were on our way to FLL.

All in all, a great trip, missing the sunny warm weather already.

Great review, we have sailed her twice (once out of Barcelona as well) and enjoyed her both times. Interesting on the new menu at Cucina, thanks for posting the review. Ouch on the taxi ride....
