Ultra Premier Cruises

Do all the offers come with casino cash? I am showing I have an ultra offer but it does not say anything about casino cash. I was looking at the dream out of New Orleans. Originally it was a premier but now it’s showing as an ultra

Thanks for the info!

Your offer also came in the postal mail?

The offer doesn't show up online?

I got my offer snail mail first and excitedly called immediately. Our agent said it wasn’t in the system yet but promised to look out for it. That night I got an email with a countdown timer on it. They were going on sale at midnight. I stayed up, made the reservation quickly, and went to bed.

The next morning I woke up and had two booking confirmations! I called the agent, and it turned out he’d made one of the bookings and canceled it.

So, we’re booked in a balcony in November out of Galveston. I’m so excited! The only reason I got invited was them having a deal where if you went on a Premier Cruise within a certain time span, you qualified to receive an Ultra invitation. I haven’t played as much the last few times because the casino gets so crowded.

According to the marketing materials I received from Carnival, "no." My marketing materials say 3 Ultra participants from each ultra cruise will get to meet Shaq on a future cruise, which sounds to me like the "winners" will have to book another cruise to make that happen.

Thanks Winddawn, appreciate the info.. The 3 19 year olds we are dragging along with us on this 14 day adventure thought it would have been been pretty "cool" to see him.

Being that this such a long cruise and during school months there probably won't be too many younger cruisers onboard.

Don't know why all the negativity around pricing??? We did an Ultra last year, got some good prizes (Apple Watch, iPad, $750 drawing), booked the 11/25 sailing this time around. We had Amex offers on several of our cards (expired June 1), so $1016 total after tax, minus $200 in Amex offers, $500 in casino cash, and we get a week cruise for two at $300ish, depending how the casino cash works in our favor. That's a pretty good value in my book...

Is it not true changes have been made from last years ultra cruises?

Would you answer some questions we have,,,

Did everyone on your ultra cruise win a prize?

How were the gifts/prizes handed out, like on a premiere cruise, or were you guaranteed a prize?

You won 3, did others win that many?

Your price was for an inside or ocean view?

We found, and booked the Oct. 20 ultra Glory cruise, an ocean view for $1200. total, and I get $1000. casino cash.

We also booked a bounce back Oct 27 on the Glory for the same ocean view cabin for $850., so it'll be a B2B.

So we'll see how it turns out.

thanks.

The ultra offer states Shaq will be on a future cruise in 2019 and not on the ultra cruises being offered now.

didn't notice that, oh well, there will be plenty of other big people on the ship!;p

Checked my VIFP offers, and I have an ULTRA offer, rate code P4L. Slight savings on cabin fare, but no mention of any casino cash.

I usually book premier casino fares and used to get $300 cash which has lately turned into $200 free play. So is there any "rebate" of cash or free play with an ULTRA P4L code?

Thanks! I called the casino phone line and there was an interminable wait. It's a difference of $10 from the regular inside cabin rate, think I'll be passing on it if there is no casino cash back.

Yes but you do get the DOU card. And from what I understand every Ultra player is guaranteed a nice gift like iPad, I watch or maybe even cash. You get to spin a wheel for your prize. I read it’s valued at at least $300

  • 2 weeks later...

I was on premier cruise, got 8600 points. was told I would made the ultra cruise. Didn't hear from them so contacted by email. Said you can no longer call, have to email. Was told I did not make enough points so was not eligible. I answered back that I made over the 7500 and was told by the host on cruise that I made it. Then got a reply back that I did get 8600 points but it was not the right premier cruise so I did not get an invite. I asked to speak with manager but got no replay back. I have been cruising with Carnival for over 25 years, usually 1 or 2 a year, have sent several friends and family to them and then they treated me like this giving me the runaround. Feel I was treated unfairly. Looking to switch to another cruise line.

The Premier cruise had to have been taken between Jan 2018 and May 2018 to qualify for the Fall 2018 Ultra, not sure when you took your Premier Cruise

Also the Premiere Getaways do not qualify for an Ultra Cruise offer

Not exactly so, ex., last year 'I qualified' for both the fall '17, and Spring '18 ultra cruises, and received 'none', maybe there were none(?),,,,,but others have stated they took ultra cruises in the times I mentioned! I also got no response.

A couple of data points. First, I have no idea how I qualified for this Ultra. The last Premier we did was April of this year, but I only had 1000ish points. My offer code for the Ultra is P9L and includes $500 casino cash. The last two Carnival cruises we've done this year we haven't gambled much due to the cigarette smoke; we're over the casino because of it. Ultimately this new offer is too good to pass up though, so we booked for November.

Regarding your questions, on our previous Ultra, everyone got a prize. The way it works is they give you a particular night to show up. Your name is called, grab a ball with a number, that then corresponds to a space on a wall of pull tabs. That then shows which prize you've won. This is all if I remember right, caveat emptor. The minimum was casino cash (maybe real cash, not sure), we won an Apple Watch and iPad mini. They make you fill out a tax form right there if you won anything over a certain dollar amount (we didn't have to). My name was also called for $750 in casino cash, which was a nice added bonus. Other than that, I would say there are noticeably more drawings during an Ultra versus a Premier.

Thanks for the info. Got an IPad, but a newer version might be nice. An IWatch would be a new toy. Don't drink, so the DOU card is fairly useless to me. Funny how on regular cruises I get asked interminably if I want a drink, and on those premier cruises when I have a DOU card I have a hard time finding a waiter to get a bottle of water (yes I do tip a $1 bill).

We took our Ipad Pro 256 to an Apple store. Told them we had won it on a Carnival cruise and we wanted cellular/wifi. They swapped it for what we wanted and we only had to pay the difference

Looking forward to this Ultra cruise. We've done several premier and were on board during an Ultra (not part of the group then). This one worked out perfect for us we were going the week of thanksgiving with 21 people anyway and was able to switch to the Ultra and actually got cheaper rates for everyone than we had. :D

Simply taking a premier cruise during a stated timeframe was not all that was required to qualify for the ultra cruise. The information Carnival sent me originally stated you also had to earn 7,500 points on "one" premier cruise during the timeframe to qualify, then later that language in the offer changed to say those with 7,500 points on one premier cruise in the timeframe would have first access to book an ultra offer. I sailed on one premier cruise but did not earn 7,500 points, but did recently receive an ultra offer. Normally I don't book premier offers because they are not the best casino offers I receive, but did this one last New Years because I was already booked on a New Years cruise when a premier offer for the same cruise was offered to me, so I price matched to it and got casino cash. I've never accumulated 7,500 points on any cruise, much less a premier cruise. I took one ultra premier cruise previously, and received another ultra premier offer this year, but declined to book it because I got a free cabin casino offer that was a better offer.
