Charro entertained on the Enchantment of the Seas back in '99. We got to meet her. My husband was thrilled. Jimmy Osmond performed on Legend of the Seas. We didn't make the effort to try to meet him. We thought his performance was nauseating. It was look "look how great me and my family are!"

May 1995 wife and I were on the Sensation for our honeymoon and Emmitt Smith and family were on board. Walked up behind him in the Casino the first night having no idea who he was until he turned around. My wife says my eyes lit up like a kid at Christmas.

Understand, I'm a HUGE Dallas Cowboys fan, so it was cool. We have some great shots of him climbing Dunns River in our honeymoon album.

For the record, I didn't bother him because I wanted to respect the fact he was on vacation with his family. A few times I did see people corner him asking for an autograph. Though he tried to move along quickly so not to get surrounded by a crowd, he was always very polite and accomodating to everyone. Showed himself to be a very classy individual.

Again, not that I'm biased or anything!!!! :)

It seems I wouldn't know one if I tripped over one. I walked into a bathroom at Epcot, there was a guy brushing his teeth. I was standing there doing my business, when a group of teens came it and started hassling this guy. I washed up and walked out without really thinking about it.

As I was standing there waiting for DW and DDs to come back to the ladies room, this guy comes out (with security) and the teens chasing (they took him through one of those "Cast Members Only" doors.

As they were passing by one of the teens yells out "Clevland Rock"; then it clicked, it was Drew Carey.

Now in my defence, he wasn't wearing his glasses.

When I was on the Big Red Boat years & years ago, I met Elvis & Madonna... I even have pictures to prove it!!! :D

Also, I too have meet Emmitt Smith... It's a long story but he is good friends with a member of our family... I happened by chance to run into him at the Dallas airport about 10yrs ago... We were both flying from Atlanta to Dallas on the same plane... The dang adults were acting like idiots & wanting him to autograph like 20 things each... He adv he would only sign 1 or 2 items for each person... People started acting like dang jerk offs, so I urged him to go wait in his limo & let his limo driver get his bags... Unfortunately, a few a**hole adults ruined alot of kids experience... He did sign for all kids first & I even had to tell some adult guys to get out of his face & I wasn't his dang bodyguard or anything... He was alot nicer than I would have been... He is a class act for sure!!!

I dont think of her as a celebrity, even if she thinks she is, but when we were on a Carnival cruise (8-9 years ago and I don't remember which one it was) KathyLee Gifford was on it filming a commercial, of course, for Carnival. It was horrible.....

In the casino at night, they cleared out the entire crap table (in the middle of a roll) and surrounding tables/machines just so she and the other actors could tape. At the pool, smack in the middle of a sunny day at sea, they made a couple hundred of the passengers get up and leave their lounge chairs (including my then 8 months pregnant sister). On the lido deck, at lunchtime, in the buffet, they roped off an entire area, this time not so much for filming but so that the crew and actors could eat alone... Imagine the passengers walking around holding trays looking for tables only to have an entire area roped off. On this particular day, one of the passengers put his foot down, opened his mouth, and climbed right on over the rope and then the rest of the passengers followed him!!!

So, depending on who it is, and why they are there, sometimes seeing someone famous is not always a blessing...

Thanks,That is another thing I was wondering, but I couldn't think of a way to phrase it. I wondered if celebrities could cause other passangers to be inconvienienced because of thier "special needs".

Richard Simmons will be on the Legend on May 21st. Not sure if he is considered a celebrity.

The best I can come up with was meeting the son of the guy who was on Airwolf. Alex something?

EDIT: I just looked it up. It was Alex Cord, but his real name was Alex Viespi, and that matches the name of the kid I met on a cruise back in 1990. Now I just have to look up his first name.

My father played for the 1983 Redskins when they beat the Dolphins in Superbowl 17 (long ago, I know) and he and my mother were invited on Princess cruises as a special guest of the captain. They had a great time and ate with the captain every night. My mom has lots of pictures being on the bridge and other parts of the ship. She said it was the best because they had to come out of pocket for nothing except gifts for us back home. I am still trying to get them on a boat again, but they say it just won't be the same.

On our Truimph cruise this past January, we had Chuck Wollery on board all week. We were standing in line on the first formal night for pictures at the top of the stairs when I turned around and saw a wedding party coming for their photo's. Lo and behold there he was in all his "Love Connection" and "Scrabble" glory. The MAN! I threated my wife to buy his pictures from the photo gallery... never followed thru, even though I saw a ton of them in the racks.

Ended up that we had the same seating as he did for dinner every night, and as we would walk by his table to get to ours we would give him a "hey Chuck" in passing (we would never stop). He was real cool about it and would acknowledge us with a smile, wave, and a "Hi" or "hey there" everytime. I didn't see anybody messing with him all week long... which is probably what a celebrity would want.

When you are on a cruise you are treated like kings/queens. To see a celebrity enjoying the same things you are it'll hit you two ways... 1) they are human just like us, and 2) it sure is great to be on a cruise!

We were on the Elation last June with a "country" singer named Steve Holy. He is best known for his song"Good Morning Beautiful" and "Put Your Best Dress On" which he filmed the video for right before our cruise. The funny thing was, he was on the cruise with a group from a building company which is headquartered here in Dallas and his longtime girlfriend. The very week we got off the ship he was in People magazine paired up with Estella from the Bachelor (the one Bob dumped) and it said they had an ongoing romance..Well... not so true since he was on the cruise with his girlfriend and they were all over each other. I guess it was just a publicity stunt since Estella was featured in his video which was filmed the week before. It was very cool that every night he would sing some of the songs off his album in the Kareoke Bar. Several people knew who he was or knew his music.

In June 2002, my good girl friend and I we on the Explorer of the Seas, we saw Gloria Estefan and family. We only saw them once..around 7pm on the pool deck.

We (same good girl friend) were on cruise when Richard Simmons had one of his cruise to loose. Not that he is much of a celebrity:eek:

Not unless it is a promotion of some sort. For example, Donald Trump will be on a Carnival cruise in September - I think that is when it is.

Donald Trump will not be on the cruise. He will be at the party before the cruise. I heard someshwere that you have to pay to go to the party. But then I heard it was already included in your price. I'm not sure. But I now Donald will not be on the cruise.
