Concierge benefits

I am traveling on the Adventure of the Seas on the Baltic cruise in June of 2014 - yes it is a ways off, but I'm excited and like to research! We have a Grand Suite, and it mentions we have concierge services. What is included in these services? Also what is the average price for a cocktail (like a Grey Goose and soda)? Trying to figure out if the drink package is worth it - I suspect we will be purchasing wine by the bottle at dinner - so I don't think it will be worth it - but trying to figure that out. My husband and I are very social drinkers, but I think we also have several ports and won't be on the ship during those times. Thanks for helping this newbie out!

1. Private lounge, drinks included....and yes, they are quality brands

2. Services of the Consierge, for tours, onboard dinner reservations, any questions or problems.

3. Escorted disembarkation (very useful...when you get to walk past the long lines).

4. Coffee, pastries, cappochino, all day...Plus Canapes during the evening hours....usually 5p to 8p

There are more, but these are the key factors that make a GS worthwhile

Welcome to Cruise Critic.:)

The Concierge is there to help you book excursions, spa appointments, reservations at Specialty Restaurants, etc. He/She can print off your SeaPass Account and do your on-line check-in if you are flying home on debarkation day.

Each night between the hours of 5-8:30PM there are ""complimentary cocktails (your basic mixed drinks) served along with wine, champagne, beer and soft drinks. There are also hot and cold appetizers served as well.

You will have access to the lounge 24/7 where you can enjoy the Specialty Coffee machine for espresso and cappuccino along with regular and decaffeinated coffee. Also hot water for hot chocolate and tea.

There will be a continental breakfast available every morning also. A letter will be left in your cabin with all the necessary details.

Being in a GS you will be able to order breakfast, lunch and dinner off the MDR menu to enjoy on your balcony.

This was taken from the RCI website. I am afraid I can't help you with the alcohol question as I don't drink but I am sure someone else will be able to. You will love your grand suite - they are amazing :D

I think I may be ok without the drink package if drinks are available at the concierge lounge throughout the day. It appears to be complimentary since it is "self serve". Am I reading that correctly? But it also says honor bar which denotes some form of payment due and maybe you count your drinks? That doesn't make too much sense, though. Thanks for all your help.

Alcohol Beverage is only available from 5-8:30.

The coffee machines are available 24hrs.

The FAQ needs an update on the honor bar..

Any type of alcoholic drinks, beer, wine and soft drinks are only available between 5 and 8:30.

It is not self serve. There will be a bar server to take your order. It used to be self serve but RCI did away with that about 5 years ago!!

When we are in Labadee will there be an escort off the ship first before other passengers? We have a cabana booked on Nellies Beach and I hear it is first come, first served for cabana location so this service would be very helpful. Thanks for any info.

I am not aware of any type of escort off the ship for Labadee. Since it's a port that you dock at, everyone gets off when they want to.

When using priority tendering from the concierge do you go to the lounge first and he walks you down or is he there waiting in the area for suite guest if there is a line.

I have found it is different on each ship. Check with the concierge for his or her policy.

On Splendour two weeks ago the Concierge sent special tender passes for each suite guest to our staterooms. We took them to the tendering area on deck 1 and were directed to the front of the line.

So we don't have to book that in advance then, if the tickets are already in the suite? I wasn't sure how it worked. We will be on Splendour in 2 weeks :)
