lrt718 Posted February 9, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 9, 2009 This is our first cruise. I have been reading a lot of message boards -- but still am wondering - On RCCI, can you purchase soda and water, at a market in San Juan before boarding the ship -- will they let you bring it on? Thanks for your advice...still trying to get organized and figure out the whole cruising adventure.:)

Rick_F1 Posted February 9, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 9, 2009 Every cruise I have been on, I have brought diet soda and a case of water in my checked bag for onboard use. I have never had a problem. Good luck and enjoy your cruise! Ricky

So long as the drinks are unopened (i.e. sealed) and are not alcoholic they do permit them to be brought on.
karena1 Posted February 9, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 9, 2009 I talk water/soda/juice on every Royal cruise we are on and have never had a problem. Some I check, some I carry on and they have always let me through with it.
cruisePRN Posted February 9, 2009 #6 Share Posted February 9, 2009 There is no restriction on non alcoholic beverages. You can bring all you want.

ThinkingInPink Posted February 10, 2009 #8 Share Posted February 10, 2009 I was just wondering about bottled water today. I have a water bottle I like to use when I'm catching some sun, I'd like to take some bottled water on board to fill it daily. On a side note...hoytarchery999...my brother shoots for hoyt and from Pa as well. :)
cb at sea Posted February 10, 2009 #9 Share Posted February 10, 2009 Bring your re-fillable water bottle and you can re-fill it on the ship. The ship's water is perfectly fine--better than most "bottled" water. Or, ask the bartender for ice-water...they will gladly give you glass after glass. eem0924 Posted February 10, 2009 #11 Share Posted February 10, 2009 You will not be permitted to bring on an "Open" water bottle - or coke bottle, etc. They are concerned that it could be used to smuggle alcohol. You will be forced to leave that behind. Unopened water bottles, sodas, juices are permitted
adk0425 Posted February 10, 2009 #12 Share Posted February 10, 2009 On all of our cruises we bring a case of bottled water and this cruise I am bringing a 6-pack of ginger ale, in case of yucky tummy.
cruiselife4me Posted February 10, 2009 #13 Share Posted February 10, 2009 I really do find it easier to bring bottles with pull up spouts with us and just refill as we need to. The ship water really is tasty!! (or bring an empty evian bottle or something)

dwjoe Posted February 11, 2009 #15 Share Posted February 11, 2009 One idea might be to bring a Brita pitcher and refillable water bottles.
ladyselene Posted February 11, 2009 #16 Share Posted February 11, 2009 We have always brought a full case of water and a 12 pack of cokes in our checked bag, we have a large duffle bag with wheels that works great for this. After it is empty, we have room in that bag for our souvenirs etc. We keep the cardboard from the case of water and bring packing tape too in case we buy something breakable like shells or carvings that we need to wheel off the ship with us. As long as it is not opened they have not said anything to us ever. We have just put a luggage tag on a case of water and had it directly delivered with our bags too. Bringing a brita with refillable bottles is a good idea, might try that sometime, that is what we use at home.
