Rare WesW Posted September 5, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 5, 2009 Just got a private email from Anita Dunham-Potter..both the Avid Cruiser and Anita are super troopers. Anita is coming through for all of us Spirit fans--like she offered on her Blog earlier in the week, she is answering Spirit questions (each suite will have IPOD docking stations, SS plans for online specialty restaurant rsvns..have also asked her about the length of the jogging track & size of the pool) encourage any Spirit fan who has a question to send it to Anita (expertcruiser.com/blog) Wonderful BTW news: Anita, was among many major cruise media on board the new Seabourn Odyssey in June...here is what Anita just sent me in a private email: From what I've seen -- when finished -- Spirit is a lot prettier and better planned than Seabourn Odyssey. Best Anita

swindy Posted September 5, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted September 5, 2009 Colonel, I've filled in the online form asking when. I, too, am following both posts which is thanks to you as I was not familiar with either until you posted about them. So thanks very much.
swindy Posted September 5, 2009 Author #6 Share Posted September 5, 2009 Colonel, p.s. We have never sailed Regent and have no experience of their online restaurant reservations. Would you expect that we can book for ALL restaurants when the system is up and running. (I only mean one nights reservation in each of the restaurants) Thanks
Rare WesW Posted September 5, 2009 #7 Share Posted September 5, 2009 Swindy, yes, that is the system used by Regent (we were on the Voyager last November and had booked one night in Signatures and one night in the former asian restaurant, Latitudes (now Prime 7) before boarding...Regent's system is open 30 days prior to boarding. Would expect as a principle of timing &equality, that SS will follow a similar online system (e.g. 30 days out will open for reservations using the My Vogage link) and giving all SS cruisers the opportunity to make one reservation per speciality restaurant per cruise. However, there are cancellations when you are on board, we have found if you check with Maitre D on a recurring basis, you can get another reservation in Regent's Specialty restaurant (s). DebbieH103 Posted September 5, 2009 #9 Share Posted September 5, 2009 She also addressed the issue from a question I asked months back as to whether or not the suites had two TVs and if one was behind glass. One of her tweets said that is the case.
Rare WesW Posted September 5, 2009 #10 Share Posted September 5, 2009 Here is more detail on the Spirit's build progress from the Avid Cruiser: http://avidcruiser.posterous.com/pitching-camp-on-silver-spirit Absolutely hope the Shipyard & SS can complete the last 35% of Spirit's needed build in the next 3 1/2 months. However, kudos to the Silversea leadership team for inviting two major cruise media on board during the sea trials.
