ItsAllAboutTheSass Posted January 10, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 10, 2010 I believe your grats would need to be paid thru your TA as that is who has handled your reservation.
TakeMeAway1001 Posted January 10, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 10, 2010 If you booked through a TA or online site other than Carnival you will have to go through them :)

Destiniiii Posted January 10, 2010 #9 Share Posted January 10, 2010 Go to the Carnival website. Go under my reservation which is located at the bottom of the page to the left. Click on my reservation, then click on manage booking, modifiy booking, and they go to edit dinner time and then click the pre-paid gratituties box. This is how I paid for mine. I added it on after I paid for my cruise, but I also booked my cruise through Carnival.com. I am not sure if you have access to this. Good Luck, CJ

Good Luck, CJ this only works if you booked using carnival directly. If you use a travel agent your agent will do it for you. When you board with prepaid tips it will show up as a debit and credit. Scootch Posted January 10, 2010 #14 Share Posted January 10, 2010 It is usually charged to your sign and sail card when you are on the ship Yep, the first time you check your sail and sign account via the TV on board, you will find the gratuities have already been charged to your account. LUVROYAL415 Posted January 10, 2010 #15 Share Posted January 10, 2010 We booked our cruise through Carnival over the phone. After we were paid in full, we decided we should prepay our gratuities. We just called Carnival and added it to our booking over the phone. It already shows up on My Documents. If you don't book online, you cannot pay online. (At least that is what Carnival told me.) Maybe that is why it won't let you?
wrf2e Posted January 10, 2010 #16 Share Posted January 10, 2010 You can buy funship doillars that will be placed on your account and they will pay your gratuites. That's what I thought too but it looks like "Fun Ship Dollars" can not be used to pay gratuities... ...in fine print on the back of the certificate... 7)This certificate may not be used to pay for games of chance and or similar activities. When used as an onboard credit it can not be used to pay for gratuiities. This certificate can not be used and is not applicable for group travel or payments related to group bookings and amenities. This may be one of those things that is a "rule" but can be bent. I haven't tried to use one for gratuities...just pointing out the fine print. Yoli=) Posted January 10, 2010 #17 Share Posted January 10, 2010 Hi, I have a question? With pre-paid grats, do they charge your card now or later?? thanks
leigh61870 Posted January 10, 2010 #18 Share Posted January 10, 2010 later at the end of the cruise. On your account on your tv is where you can see the $10 per person per day add up. FYI you can go to pursers desk at anytime and ask them to remove it. You can tip who you want and give them the amounts you want that way.
Sherrybaby412 Posted January 10, 2010 #19 Share Posted January 10, 2010 Prepaid means it is paid NOW not later. So they would charge your card now.
smileeys Posted January 10, 2010 #20 Share Posted January 10, 2010 My experience with the funship dollars were that we were able to use them for tips and even for the casino (Used my sail and sign card then funship dollars were subtracted). I was on the Fantasy in Jan 2009. NO idea if this is always the case.

Keeping the tips on your card they get to keep it all. Tipping extra in cash they get to keep it as it is extra. Paying them in cash with money you took off the card they have to turn it in and have it pooled.

candigirl41 Posted January 10, 2010 #23 Share Posted January 10, 2010 The above posters are correct. My friend uses funship dollars everytime and has never had a problem. The first thing to come off after she put them on her account was her tips. Candi
