Dream or Freedom~Eastern Which one...

So I've read lots of reviews etc. and we are deciding between these to for an October School Break cruise.

Freedom:

Pros: I like the Freedom ports (although have read some negatives on Antigua wondering if Carnival will keep going there) mostly like that there are more "ports" less sea days.

Negatives-

Tacky interior (guess you can get used to it but we"re taking first time Carnival cruisers and don't want them instantly put off)

Dream, Pro's: new ship have been to and liked all the ports

Cons: too many people, too new of a ship (doesn't have it's groove yet?)

Anyone who's been on one or both have an opinion?

We did a B2B on the Freedom and did not find anything tacky about the ship. Loved the ports and the ship. Antigua was great, we had a local taxi driver take us around the island for a tour. Had lunch and drinks at Jolly Harbor and returned to downtown for a try at their casino and boarded the boat. You go by Mosserrat (spell check needed) and see the active volcano as you enter the port of Antigua. Loved the cruise.

I was on the Jan 30 Freedom sailing - LOVED the itinerary and by the 4th day I was used to the decor.... it is the ultimate cruise itineray however that being said, we want to have a destination cruise wedding, and there is no way that we would choose the Freedom ship as the first cruise experience for most of our guests!! The decor would turn them off cruising, which we are huge advocates of, forever!!

I guess I am just too easy to please. I loved the Freedom, so much I rebooked it. We had this same decision, and went with Freedom. eight days vs seven was a biggie, have been to Antigua and can't wait to go back. Yes, that extra day was a biggie. Also, the deck plan on the Dream just was not as appealing. Love the aft wrap on Freedom.
