What do they show on the 'Big Screen'?

I've not been on a boat with a big screen before.. I know they have movie nights, but what is on the screen the rest of the time? I'm watching the Dream's webcam footage and sometimes I see shots of a beach or people singing.

Is it just a 'video jukebox' during the day, a big billboard for upcoming ports (please tell me there are no Diamond International or Del Sol ads!)? Something else? And is it on 24/7 or does it get shut off at certain times?

In the mornings (at least on Freedom and Liberty) they showed CNN/news. Around 9 or 10 they had the cd's morning show. Then they showed sea scenes, etc. They have "picturesque scenes" on when the band is playing. Mid-afternoon they had concerts (ELO, Miley Cyrus, Earth Wind and Fire, Johnny Cash, etc.) Evenings they had movies : Star Trek, Angels and Demons, Up, This is It (Michael Jackson) to name a few. Each ship is different. They do NOT show ads.

They showed endless hours of the cruise DVD that you could buy on our Victory sailing, same one they show on the TVs. If that's not an ad, I don't know what is.

I guess each ship is different, as I said. The ones I was on didn't show the cruise dvd till the last sea day - but when you put on your cabin tv - well, that was a different story! It was on like 6 channels!:D

I was just on the Dream March 6, and there was sound to the CNN broadcast...

Lucky you. We were on the week before you and they blared it every morning. Death, violence and destruction on a huge screen smack dab in the middle of my vacation. . . .Nice.
