Not maternity leave? I had definitely decided during my 12 nights in October that she was pregnant and just beginning to show. But, as a woman, I know better than to make a comment to another woman about her being pregnant. Too often it turns out to just be a little extra weight! :o

Speaking of weight, I tried on the dress I wore to DD's wedding (which I picked specifically because I thought it would be a good Elegant night dress; floor length but a jersey knit) and it still fits! Yippee!

Laundry tonight; nails tomorrow night; pack Wednesday night; leave work after lunch on Thursday. And I found out yesterday that I'll be heading up to Emerald Isle on Thursday for a weekend at the beach (to recover from my relaxing cruise, you know). That means I'm staying in Charleston for a post-cruise day, too. :D

Looking foward to sailing Fantasy yet again.

Hope you have a great time! I'm jealous!

Risa was definitely NOT pregnant earlier this month.

Our seven day last week was awesome! The food, service and entertainment was amazing!

I will be posting a mini review later

Can't wait to read it! Leaving in a couple of weeks for first time on Fantasy!

So, after receiving a reply from the Maitre'd telling me neither Seville nor Gerald were on board, I received one early this morning saying that Seville was indeed still waiting tables and he had put me at a table for two in his section for late dining! :D

I suppose I should tip him for doing that for me. I normally don't tip the Maitre'd. But I normally don't ask for anything special.

Yeah, Risa struck me as being a pretty tough cookie. She probably wouldn't have appreciated it if I'd implied she looked pregnant when she wasn't!

Neon - looking forward to your review. Since I'm heading to the beach after the cruise, I'm going to end up taking off more than a week from work anyway, so a 7-nighter would've worked. Except they cost more. I got a very reasonable rate, considering sailing from Charleston is always fairly high thanks to no competition. And the beach house is free. ;)

Wish they'd mix up the itinerary a little. Maybe do what they're doing with Fascination and add Key West and Little Stirrup Cay. Not sure where LSC is located, but they could sub KW for Freeport (or Nassau) on the 5-nights, couldn't they?

Risa scares me a little.....:o

I wish so much they would add Key West back to Fantasy. On our first Fantasy cruise, we did Key West, Freeport and Nassau. I have been looking at April 2014 cruises and really want to visit Key West again. But maybe we will just do a Key West trip and not a cruise.

Anyway, glad you got your dining situation taken care of to your liking!

I don't pay much attention to the CD because I rarely "do" ship activities. But I did introduce myself to her on Leg 1 to tell her I was on my first B2B; that I was solo that leg but had friends/family joining me for Leg 2. During turnaround (there was just 1 couple and I doing B2B) I invited her to stop by our Meet & Greet (had an open bar party planned), which she did, but she just sort of waved at me, looked around and saw that we were all enjoying our open bar, and took off. True, she had to deal with Hurricane Sandy itinerary changes on both legs, so I'm sure she had her hands full. I did think she rushed through the (too many) onboard announcements to the point that I really couldn't even understand what she was saying part of the time.

But I prefer her to someone like that crazy Englishwoman who was on Fascination last time that I absolutely detested. Or some of the smarmy guys.

Having such a hard time staying focused here at work. I just want to throw some clothes in my suitcase and head to Charleston!!!

So glad to read all these great reviews of the Fantasy. Any chance that someone headed on her could post a photo of the Camp Carnival room for the 6-8 yr olds? Haven't been able to see any photos of the camp.

Thanks.

I try to stay as far away from the kids areas as possible. :p

Where is it? I know Camp Carnival is back next to the Comedy club and Circle C is up in the atrium area. But I don't know the difference between them.

I can probably drop in and take a pic, if I remember once I board.

6-8 is in Camp Carnival, right? If you go to Carnival's Fantasy page on their website, then to the Promenade Deck on the deck plans, there is a photo. Don't know if that's a generic pic of this class of ship, but it should give you a good idea.

Thank you NCTribefan. Yes 6-8 is indeed Camp Carnival. I saw the location and the hoot on the website, but it looks like it is generic. If you think about it that would be great, but I know once I have a DOD that is the last thing on my mind:)

Thanks for the note.

Well, it looks like we have a 0% chance of seeing the sun today in Charleston, so I probably won't board and rush straight to the Serenity Deck to sit in the sun! And since it's not like I need to learn my way around the ship, I should have plenty of time to take pics.

Of course I left my regular camera at home, so will have to use my phone for everything. That's assuming I don't manage to let it hurl itself overboard! :o

The Hampton Inn West Ashley is great. Very convenient. Not the cheapest option but it includes a decent breakfast, parking and the round-trip shuttle. Great sushi next door; CVS and Food Lion across the street. Even have a Manager's Reception with snacks and free beverages (including beer and wine).

Shuttle doesn't start until noon and I'm going nuts just waiting. I'm not a patient traveler. I can't relax until I "ding" my S&S card for the first time and step on the ship.

Can't wait to see the old gal again. :D

Oh look! My countdown clock says SAILED!!!!

Bon Voyage to you! So, you got to try the sushi? I was on my way home from the gym last night and passed by the hotel and waved as I went by.

Enjoy your cruise!

Have a great trip. I can't wait to see your pictures since I'll be on her in 9 days and have never been. Upload now before you leave port :)

There are tons of pics in the 3 reviews in my signature below, momsdumplin, if you want to pass the time until NCTribeFan returns!

A friend of a friend just got off the Fantasy this morning and her quote" I have never been so glad to get on Land" she said it was rough the whole cruise and she stayed sick!!!! Poor thing, that is a terrible feeling.I always carry every imaginable seasick remedy just in case! But we can't control the seas we can only hope and pray for the best. I have friends that get sick every cruise and still go

With this being our first cruise I'm really hoping no one will get sea sick. I've got sea bands as well as some pills that we'll be taking the night before we even board the ship just be safe. I'd hate for that to ruin my trip. :(

No pics yet since I won't be home until Sunday night and don't have what I need to upload.

Nasty weather last Friday night. I didn't sleep well thanks to being rolled over in my bed. That aft cabin (E183) had a lot of vibration, too. Everything in the cabin was rattling and squeaking.

But I had absolutely NO problem with the motion.

Seriously, people - GINGER ROOT CAPSULES!!! They work. They've cured me. Look, I still can't ride in the passenger seat in a car going down the interstate, but I can sail through rough seas because I take this stuff!

Anyway, it was good. Yes, Camp Carnival looks just like that pic!

Surprisingly, I enjoyed the two new production shows. Probably my age has something to do with it, since I'm a huge music fan and the British Invasion probably had as much impact on my life as anything other than my daughter! And I love Motown, too.

I'll start writing my review in the morning but won't post it until I can add photos. I didn't take all that many because I left the regular camera at home and I learned the hard way to not stand too close to the railing when using your smartphone camera. :o

Have my usual complaints about people being so loud all the time and having a difficult time finding anywhere peaceful to sit and read. Chair hogs out in full force everywhere. If you weren't on the Serenity Deck by 9, you were very luck to find seating until about 5!

My special waiter was wonderful. I adore him. Food was good enough. Casino wasn't nice to me.

Sitting here wondering if I should consider another 5+7 Fantasy sailing in the fall instead of my Conquest repo. But, I love San Juan and want to return to Dominica and Antigua and see St Martin.

I am NOT one of those people who, at the end of a trip says "it was nice but it will be good to be home." Nope. Not me. Every cruise/trip just reinforces how much I want to be wealthy and have the time and money to do nothing but travel. I want to see it all! I want to eat all the weird food and talk to locals everywhere and see the sights and learn the history and hear about the culture.

Sigh.

Anyway, I'll post the link to the review when I finally get it started.
