brekin67 Posted April 14, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 14, 2010 This will be my first cruise in about 10 years or more. I will be leaving Galveston on September 18th with one other guest, possibly 2. We will be on Ecstasy going to Mexico. I don't have any idea what room is best to get. We looked at grand suite. I read the AFT balcony thread. Not sure what that means, but I think you have a larger balcony in the back. If you have a minute, could you please tell me what room I should be requesting on this cruise. I am not booked yet. spencercoop Posted April 14, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2010 It depends how much you want to pay. A Grand Suite will be very pricey.
brekin67 Posted April 14, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted April 14, 2010 I would like to have a tub if the showers are very small. What would you recommend as best, regardless of price... And, best with price in mind?

brekin67 Posted April 14, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted April 14, 2010 Is there a grand suite with a wrap around balcony?
spencercoop Posted April 14, 2010 #6 Share Posted April 14, 2010 Is there a grand suite with a wrap around balcony? No there isn't. There is a Grand Suite or a Grand Suite with an Extended balcony. They are all midship on the Upper deck.
chipperberg Posted April 14, 2010 #7 Share Posted April 14, 2010 Is there a grand suite with a wrap around balcony? Yes, there should be. I have a suite (not sure if it is grand, but it has a jacuzzi tub) on the Carnival Spirit with a wrap-around balcony at the aft of the ship. I do believe only the wrap-arounds are larger, not all of the aft balconies. The ship deck plans are pretty reliable and you can see which balconies are larger than others from that...Good luck
*Mach* Posted April 14, 2010 #8 Share Posted April 14, 2010 The Category 12 suites are beautiful but very expensive. The afts on the Ecstasy are not the typical aft balcony that folks talk about when they refer to 'afts'... The afts on the Ecstasy are the typical 185 sq ft but the balconies are smaller... 55 sq ft as opposed to balconies of about 65 to 90 sq ft, depending on cabin. The ocean view cabins are quite nice and there's the new balcony cabins on the sides of the ship as well... the category 8B through D are all good values. Midships and low are the best locations of anyone is prone to motion sickness. What are your priorities? :)

firefly333 Posted April 14, 2010 #10 Share Posted April 14, 2010 There are some extended balconys on the back, with twice as deep balconies that were added on after the last dry dock, but these dont have bath tubs.
