English_in_Spain Posted May 26, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 26, 2010 Which ship(s) still show the day of the week in the elevator? We are just off the Noordam and no day of the week there.
RuthC Posted May 26, 2010 #5 Share Posted May 26, 2010 Which ship(s) still show the day of the week in the elevator? We are just off the Noordam and no day of the week there. The "day of the week" carpets aren't on the Vista or Signature class ships. :( They are fun, aren't they! I believe they are still on the S- and R-class ships, as well as the Prinsendam. The idea for them came over on the Prinsendam. It had been a Royal Viking Line ship, and the "day of the week" carpets was something found on that line. bbw187 Posted May 26, 2010 #6 Share Posted May 26, 2010 Royal Caribbean also has "day of the week" carpets in their elevators on some of their ships. Sailed the Mariner of the Seas twice and it was fun to see what day it was.
luvtwotrvl Posted May 27, 2010 Author #7 Share Posted May 27, 2010 Thanks for the interesting post but how are you able to find out where all the ships are? Laffnvegas, a long-time CC poster, has an inside connection to HAL, so she gets the annual spreadsheet which lists month-by-month (and even day-to-day when sorted by ship) locations for the HAL fleet. Her work schedule changed, so DW and I agreed to post these for a while. The spreadsheet arrives in December, so it doesn't reflect any last minute changes (such as the days when the Veendam skips St. George to go straight to Hamilton... or the cancelled charter for the Noordam this summer). We just learn about those as all CC readers do and try to update our documents (prepared for easy cutting and pasting) as we go. David
