Royal Caribbean Cabin Information Compilation -NO CABIN QUESTIONS POSTED HERE PLEASE!

Recommended Posts

Special thanks to Mysticks1 on the Celebrity Cruises forum for this idea. I would like to begin to assemble one for Royal Caribbean.

To the moderators, I would appreciate if we could make this a "sticky" at the top of the page for all to see.

Every week or two I will post a PDF for all the ships and cabin information compiled here.

Please, refrain from posting cabin questions here so this can purely be an informative thread, especially for those that are first time cruisers or seasoned cruisers looking for a great cabin.

The template is as follows:

Ship -

Deck -

Stateroom # -

Stateroom Category –

Starboard or Port Side -

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) –

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? -

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. –

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? -

Was wind a problem? -

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? -

Any specific problems with this cabin? -

Any other comments? -

Ship - Navigator of the Seas (NOTS)

Deck - 7

Stateroom # - 7688

Stateroom Category – E1

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) –Located at the very aft on the stern of the ship, it is a very quiet location with no hallway traffic.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Aft stern balconies give 180 degree panoramic views but are considered an obstructive view on the voyager and freedom class ships because of the superstructure on the rear of the ship. The higher the deck, the less obstructive. This deck 7 corner aft has a 6 foot side porthole that makes the covered balcony feel more open and also affords the only straight down aft water view on these classes of ships.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Deck 7 corner aft balconies are HUGE with 2 chaise lounges in addition to the standard 2 chairs and small table.

Was wind a problem? - No. Aft balconies are more sheltered from wind.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - We have not had a soot problem on the Navigator.

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Aft balconies are HAUNTED  so people should avoid booking them (save them for us instead :p).

aft-haunted.gif

Any other comments? - The cabin is a standard E1 (loveseat vs. sofa you would get in a D1). Some people say there is more motion being aft but we did not notice this. Some people don't like the infrastructure at the back of the ship. The balcony is not stepped but completely covered by deck 8 above. This keeps it dry in the event of rain but does limit the amout of sun it receives. There is some light pollution and sometimes noise from crew deck 5. It is a LONG walk to the elevators (which entitles you to TWO desserts!;):D).

Ship - Radiance

Deck - 10

Stateroom # - 1100

Stateroom Category – JS

Starboard or Port Side - Portside

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Mostly. There was a bit of noise from the Windjammer above, mainly as they were setting up in the morning.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Unbelievable! Views to portside and aft, no obstructions.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Huge, with two loungers, two chairs & small table and room to dance

Was wind a problem? - no

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - Only while in port - Radiance class now have diesel engines for use while docked or tendered, and there was a bit of soot as a result. When the ship was underway we didn't have any issues at all.

Any specific problems with this cabin? - the cabin steward was uninspired, but they rotate.

Any other comments? - 1100 is one of my favorite cabins, 1602 being the other.

Ship - Freedom of the Seas

Deck - 6

Stateroom # - 6327

Stateroom Category – PR

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes and no. Quieter than I was led to believe a PR room on Deck 6 would be. We could hear muffled sound from the parades, but the window was double-paned and it was incredibly muffled.

The biggest noise we heard every night was Latin music from Bolero's two decks down - it comes directly up the Centrum. I'm a light sleeper and was worried about the noise, but it was incredibly muffled. It lasts from after dinner until around midnight or so. Throughout the late night, morning and afternoon, we never heard a peep from the promenade or neighboring cabins.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No, thankfully!

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – No balcony.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? -

Was wind a problem? -

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? -

Any specific problems with this cabin? - If you want a great view of the parades from the cabin, this isn't the one for you. The view is of the Centrum and not the Promenade. We had a great view of the bridge in the Centrum and watched the parades set up - it was also fun to people-watch those crossing the bridge.

Any other comments? - This cabin is in a great location - great access to the rest of the ship from the aft staircase (2 rooms down). It's incredibly close to the aft staircase and the MDR, one flight up from Guest Relations, and with easy access to pretty much anywhere else in the ship. We loved being a 2-minute walk from the promenade.

It's not an end cabin--it's the middle of five--so you don't hear common area/staff noise. Perhaps the only better PR cabin we can think of would be the one directly across from 6327, since it wouldn't pick up Bolero's noise the same. However, we loved 6327 dearly -we have rebooked it for next year.

It is forward-facing. :)

Three pictures are attached:

#1: View of 6327 from bridge in front of Guest Relations.

#2: Picture of interior.

#3: View of parade set-up from 6327.

Ship - Serenade Of The Seas

Deck - 8

Stateroom # -8102

Stateroom Category – E1

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes, except on the 70's night when the music from the Centrum was heard until 11PM. There was no noise from the elevator lobby at all.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Baclony is directly aft of the Elevator shaft, the view forward is obstructed by the hump.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Oversized, at least twice as large as the regular balconies.

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - NA

Any specific problems with this cabin? - I expected that having the hump right beside us and upwind that smoke from other balconies would be limited and maybe it was, but we still got "blow-back" from balconies aft and below us, maybe the air was swirling behind the hump.

Any other comments? - I would book this stateroom again. It was convenient to the centrum and stairs / elevators. No noise that bothered our sleep. The balcony size was great. No balcony neighbours to the right ( forward ).

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? -Normal

Was wind a problem? -no

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? -N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? -No

Any other comments? -The cabin is one of the 2 most forward hump cabins which was a nice surprise . It is parallel to 8338 wich appears to be more forward on the RCCL deck plans. All the hump cabins are great locations...close to everything....no noise from elevators, etc.

Ship - Explorer of the Seas

Deck - 6

Stateroom # - 6362

Stateroom Category – D1

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Lots of banging the first afternoon at the front door. Told room steward. Noise stopped but started again last night. Realized it was right across the hall from the staff elevators and they were moving around luggage (duh?!). Heard some noise from the adjoining stateroom but nothing else

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Yes, unfortunately

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – On the explorer the balcony rooms are inside the hull of the ship. It's much more confined than on the newer ships. I really liked feeling a little more isolated while on my balcony. Still easy to see everything

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal ... 1 small table, 2 chairs

Was wind a problem? - not at all

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Nope, it was very nice

Ship - Rhapsody

Deck - 8

Stateroom # - 8590

Stateroom Category – JS

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Mostly quiet, the only noise we heard was when we left our balcony door open and the deck 4 crew relaxation area was in party mode (sometimes to 3 am) With the balcony door closed, no noise was heard at all.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Fantastic view, no obstructions. Can see more to starboard than port.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - oversized - long aft balcony

Was wind a problem? - not at all

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - no soot problems noted

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Its haunted, best leave aft balconies for experienced travellers :p

Any other comments? - The CRT TV is large and tends to wander out of its cubby hole when in rough seas and squeak on its mounts (a strategically placed JS robe stops this problem)

Stateroom # - 9548

Stateroom Category – JS (Junior Suite)

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No.

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Looking up we could see the Solarium hot tub area. Nice to assess whether it was busy or not. Looking down we could see people's hump cabins. Otherwise, just a standard balcony.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? -

Any specific problems with this cabin? - No

Any other comments? - Great location! We were close to the elevators, which was nice and there was never any problems with extra traffic due to elevators, etc.

Ship - Adventure of the Seas

Deck - 7

Stateroom # - 7388

Stateroom Category – E1

Starboard or Port Side - Aft

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Very quiet room

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – View was wonderful! Some "obstruction" from the aft structure, but the size of the balcony made up for it!

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Way oversize!

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - No soot problems

Any specific problems with this cabin? - None for us. Some may not like the rather long walk aft.

Any other comments? - There is a crew area on deck 6 that can sometimes be a source of "noise". Many crew members made phone calls there.

Ship - Monarch of the Seas

Deck - 10

Stateroom # - 1078

Stateroom Category – JS

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Deck 11 is pool deck and heard running during the day. We slept without a problem at night.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - no

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Look down and you see the lifeboats. Look straight out to the ocean. On our cruise we were docked in Nassau with an unobstructed view of the waterfront. We could see all of Coco Cay on our stop there.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - My first balcony so I don't have a comparison

Was wind a problem? - Not at all....I wish there was more of a breeze. There was a sizable overhang.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a

Any specific problems with this cabin? - There is a tub but it's not normal sized. Anyone over 5 foot 8" will need to bend your knees to take a shower. There is really nothing "suite" about this room. It was tiny. Only reason to book it is for the balcony.

Ship - Voyager of the Seas

Deck - 9

Stateroom # - 9318

Stateroom Category – JS

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – 9318 is in the center of the hump, and there is an unobstructed view forward and aft. Because of the in-hull design of the Voyager's balconies, you do have to lean out a bit to see where you're going or where you've been. There is a view straight out when seated.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - The balcony seemed slightly deeper than others we've had.

Was wind a problem? - There was no wind at all!

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - The "refrigerator" really didn't cool at all.

Any other comments? - Great location with easy access to other parts of the ship.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Yes...we never knew there was anybody there unless we both happened to be on the balcony at the same time.

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – We loved the view from the forward part of the hump. We didn't have a view aft because of the location of the cabin.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal, but slightly angled due to the hump.

Was wind a problem? - No

Ship - Voyager of the Seas

Deck - 10

Stateroom # - 1340

Stateroom Category – JS

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – 1340 is a few cabins behind the hump, and there is only a view aft. You cannot see the bridge or the bow from this balcony. There is a view straight out when seated.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - The balcony was a normal size for this ship. The balconies on the Voyager are very private.

Was wind a problem? - There was no wind at all!

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - It wasn't 9318, which we had been looking forward to for a year, but gave up to save $1,300!

Any other comments? - Great location near the aft stairs and elevators with easy access to other parts of the ship. We were a bit apprehensive about being under the Windjammer, but this cabin is directly beneath Portofino and it was very quiet.

Ship - Brilliance of the Seas

Deck - 9

Stateroom # - 9076

Stateroom Category – D1 Superior balcony stateroom

Starboard or Port Side - Port (on the left :))

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – No! The first few nights, we had horrendous noise from the Concierge lounge above, not so much from passengers, but from the cleaners, who dragged furniture around in the middle of the night to hoover up. It was terrible, and if it wasn't for the ship being full, wewould have asked to move but, thankfully, it quietened down after that.

This was a problem some cruice critic members had experienced but, equally, others said it had not been a problem for them.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Don't think so

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – This cabin is the first on the hump, so the balcony is at a slight angle, but the views were fine (you get to look forward and down the length of the ship towards the front, but nothing towards the back, which is blocked by the cabin to the left (centre hump).

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Bigger (not as deep as the hump next door, but wider )

Was wind a problem? - Only when I had the onions with salad!

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - No. On the contrary, it was a bit bigger than the D1 we had on the Liberty. It had a double sofa, which was only big enough for our teenage son, and we thought our grown up daughter would have to have the Pullman above our bed, but when we arrived, the Pullman came out over the sofa, which was great (although the air con blew in her face a bit)

Any other comments? - The shower curtain was rubbish and kept sticking to our legs, much prefer the perspex pull-to doors of the Liberty and other newer ships.

But the location of the cabin - right by the library and the daily sudoku - was great, with the lifts right there and the dining room just a hop skip and a jump away.

If it wasn't for the fact we are going to try a different line next time, I would not have divulged this information about 'my' cabin, so, there you go, enjoy ;)

Ship - Rhapsody of the Seas

Deck - 2

Stateroom # - 2108

Stateroom Category – I - Oceanview

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – We did have noise issues but not from people. We had our son with us and he was using the bunk but the noise from the metal banging was so bad we had to put his mattress on the floor and secure the bunks to get any sleep. The cabin steward was very apologetic and seemed embarrassed, I think he was quite aware this was an ongoing problem. It did get better with padding etc after a couple of days so our son was able to sleep. The ship was full and I didn't want to cause a fuss. There was also intermittent mechanical banging from below. Not enough to disturb but noticable. I wouldn't book a cabin again over unknown space.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - no

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – N/A

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - N/A

Was wind a problem? - N/A

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Just the noise as above.

Any other comments? - It would have been great not to have issues with the bunks and the banging below but it wasn't enough to spoil our cruise. Cabin location was convenient to stairs and the climb from 2 to the top decks was great exercise!

Ship - Seranade

Deck - 10

Stateroom # -1582

Stateroom Category – JS

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Fantastic View and great balcony in general.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Oversized, we lucked out and got upgraded to the accessible JS from a D1. You could hold dance on the balcony. Also great view of the S side wing bridge.

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - No

Any other comments? - Huge cabin with an electric door opener and massive bathroom. Have no clue how lucked into it, but glad we did. Being accessible it's not available for everyone, but should you have the need for an access cabin you can not go wrong. My wife is an occupational therapist and was impressed with the design.
