chessbriar Posted July 19, 2010 Author #10 Share Posted July 19, 2010 Whats confusing? The press release talked about bracketing Hawaiian cruises around these and there really isn't RT Hawaiian before this. I am also confused that the existing cruises are still open. I am also confused by the open dates between the repo and the first cruise. Also keep in mind, when X was redoing the CS cruises, they closed the affected dates for weeks before the press release. The Caribbean and Hawaiian dates are still open for booking. It's makes me wonder if there might be a change in MR when all is said and done. Yes, it's been announced, but why wouldn't they close those CN dates before doing any of this. I'm sure clarification will come in the future. c-legs Posted July 19, 2010 #12 Share Posted July 19, 2010 Their press release to the Trade Press participants indicates 2 consecutive Hawaii return trip from SanDiego starting 02OCT, followed by a 10 day ensenada
c-legs Posted July 19, 2010 #13 Share Posted July 19, 2010 Their most current press release to the Trade Industry medias indicates 2 r.t. SanDiego-Hawaii starting 02OCT11, then a 10 day ENSENADA-Honolulu...then a still convulated and unprecise series of voyages all over Australia, NewZealand, including a circumnavigation of Australia ( thru 2 B2B 18 days each from Sydney), some SouthPacific voyages, then, back to SanDiego and 2 r.t. To Hawaii again, before she heads back up to Vancouver. So,the Baltimore experiment comes to a halt a mere 2 seasons into it.... The press release also gives a '' menu'' of all alternatives opened to folks currently booked/deposited, and groups currently deposited/named ,on the CN sailings from Baltimore ( now obviously nixed ). I long had a suspicion == X == was going to re-explore the OZ/NZ/SoPacific market....it was even alluded to by some of their higher ''suits'' sometimes last year ( '' well, we might just want to wait 2 years and go back'' sort of statements....) With RCCL now having 3 ships down there and ==X== with Century, seems like RCL is having renewed faith in this market. Cheers
c-legs Posted July 19, 2010 #14 Share Posted July 19, 2010 ooops...forgot Re; previous post; this press release is also announcing a July 29th '' official'' announcement of the new deployment altogether with specific dates & itineraries for all the voyages between Alaska 2011 and Alaska 2012. joanne59 Posted July 19, 2010 #16 Share Posted July 19, 2010 Is this the same as the above listed itineraries? What am I missing? Marking the line's first return to the land Down Under in two years, Celebrity's exotic new Australia and New Zealand season - bookended by a series of vacation options in Hawaii - features a total of 36 ports in six countries: Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, French Polynesia, the U.S. and Mexico. The lineup includes 10 distinct itineraries, with six varied departure ports, including Sydney and Perth (Fremantle), Australia; Auckland, New Zealand; Honolulu, Hawaii; San Diego, California, and Ensenada, Mexico. Celebrity's new series begins October 2, 2011, with two consecutive 15-night Hawaii sailings from San Diego, followed by a 10-night Hawaii cruise from Ensenada to Honolulu. An 18-night "Pacific Jewels" voyage departs Honolulu November 11, followed by five 12- and 13-night New Zealand cruises between Sydney and Auckland, including a festive holiday sailing departing Sydney December 24. These offer a more destination-rich experience for cruisers, with only three days at sea, versus five on most competing lines' itineraries. Cruisers also have the opportunity to experience a rare, 36-night circumnavigational voyage - a first for Celebrity - through two combinable 18-night sailings: One will sail around the southern portion of Australia, featuring an overnight stay in Sydney and transits through three sounds - Milford, Doubtful and Dusky - in New Zealand's World Heritage-designated Fiordland National Park. The second of the combinable 18-night sailings takes cruisers around Australia's northern coast, and features a visit to the idyllic island of Bali, Indonesia - marking yet another first for Celebrity. The new series also includes two tantalizing, 18-night Trans-Pacific voyages visiting the French Polynesian islands and Hawaii. Among the ports Celebrity will visit for the first time are Geraldton, Broome, Darwin, Cairns, Brisbane, Adelaide, Albany, Bunbury and Perth, Australia, in addition to Burnie, Tasmania, and Bali. lovecruzin Posted July 20, 2010 #23 Share Posted July 20, 2010 I had a message from Celebrity when I got home. We are booked on the 3/12/12 sailing, we can switch to one of the 4 other San Diego - Hawaii RT or get a refund of our deposit. They also are offering an additional $200 OBC if we switch. We booked this while onboard Infinity and they will not let us move this reservation to one of the Aus/NZ cruises. We have to make a decision by Aug 2.
rsquare Posted July 20, 2010 #24 Share Posted July 20, 2010 Also, the AUS-NZ itineraries posted seem to be 17-day trips with four sea days, not the 12/13 day trips with three sea days mentioned in the press release, nor do they include a December 25 Sydney departure. Sounds like someone at X had second thoughts, given that the competition sells shorter (ie, less expensive) cruises on that route.
