got twins? Posted July 20, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 20, 2010 Hi folks!! We tried walkie-talkies on our Mariner cruise last summer. They worked here and there, but wound-up being more of a pain than they were worth (never worked when you really needed it, could be user error too!) I want to be able to give my kids a little freedom but also keep tabs on them. We used the voicemail a little bit last time, but I never checked to see if it can be retrieved from a place other than our room? I know you can leave a message from any phone location (outside the dining room, etc)...but can you check them there too?? Anyone know? As always...thanks!!! :):)

cb at sea Posted July 20, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 20, 2010 I don't think so....you can definitely call your room from anywhere, but I don't think there is a way to retrieve messages from other phones. We've found just making tentative plans works fine. For instance, I'll be at the pool til 2, then in the casino til 4....the kids will be on the sports deck til we meet at lunch....there are only so many places you're likely to be, and after a day, everyone pretty much gravitates to "their" spot! MyNameIsGermy Posted July 20, 2010 #4 Share Posted July 20, 2010 Has anyone checked their messages from outside of their room? We were able to do it on Grandeur without any issues. I think we had to ask someone what the voice mail phone number was, IIRC, it was a 4 or 5 digit extension.
pcur Posted July 20, 2010 #5 Share Posted July 20, 2010 Yes you can, but I cannot remember exactly how to do it. Just go to Customer Relations and they will tell you how. I think it's dialing your cabin number, and then hitting another key when the voicemail kicks on.
