What a great time!!!!!! Awesome boat, staff, and food! We had a balcony room - 8129 on the 8th floor and loved everything! We ate half the time in the dining room, half the time in the Mermaid's Grill (lido) and 1 night at David's steakhouse. Everyone was so friendly and the boat was so clean.

I wasnt impressed with our ports (grand turk, half moon cay, and freeport) but we had a blast on the boat and loved the staff and had the most relaxing time.

One comment: why arent there any clocks in the rooms?!?!?! ughhhh! hahaha

That's nice to hear. I was on the Pride about three years ago (a birthday present from my son for my sixth birthday). That cruise was to the Mexican Riviera. Don't remember much of the ship . . . just spending time with my son and what we did on our excursions. Really looking forward to my cruise out of Baltimore next moth. I too am not really very excited about our Ports (the same as yours) but . . . know I too will have a fantastic time on the ship! By the way . . . what did you do in those Ports?

You will have a BLAST!!!! I thought porting out of baltimore was nice - 2 hrs drive for us.

Ahhhhhh, in the ports we were terribly boring people so dont go by what we did - we did no "activities" and definitely felt that all of the carnival-sponsored activities were overpriced.

Most of all, we were spoiled by going to St. Maarten on a vaca with friends and staying in a private villa with our own private beach and pool in June. So we snorkeled a TON and did a lot of carribbean stuff. So this time, we knew we didnt need to snorkel or anything like that. And we had no interest in renting dune buggies, touring the man-made carnival islands, or riding horses on the beach.

So mostly we went onto the island and walked around, put our feet in the ocean and sat for a bit, and then got back on the boat. It all took about 1-2 hours. then we enjoyed some relaxed and spacious hours on the boat while everyone else was still on the islands!

I just got back from the same cruise, and had a great time too. I liked Grand Turk the best, we did a snorkeling excursion booked with Blue Water Divers. Beyond fabulous! The families with kids with us absolutely loved Half Moon, it is quite a beach.... they would have stayed for days. We had fun on the ship, CD Kirk and Asst CD Jamie were good. Comedy clubs were hilarious. All the staff were great... The Pride is a great ship, the time coming up in dry dock will be good to 'freshen it up' a bit.

Good question. I understand why there are no clocks in Las Vegas casinos, but this is different. My only guess is they feel people would steal them.

They have a full itinerary of things to do at certain times and no clocks in your rooms to help you get there! That was our main suggestion - PUT CLOCKS IN ROOMS - even if they are bolted down! hahahaa

and you know that if THAT is my main suggestion, that we were quite impressed and had an awesome time :) Luckily from looking at boards here, i knew that there were no alarm clocks and to bring my own - AND an extension cord ;)

Hi, Tammy! In Grand Turk, we walked down the beach to Jack's Shack. Jack and Janet are great hosts, and the beach by their place is much nicer than the beach by the port. And they make a really mean rum punch.

We did the same cruise 2 weeks ago. Would have given anything to spend more time on Half Moon Cay! Love, love, love it!!! Grand Turk was awesome as well. Of course, we are beach people and these are beach ports. As a matter of fact the family was together today picking the date for next summers cruise. And, yes, having Grand Turk and Half Moon Cay as two of the ports was how we picked.

I never book excursions through Carnival but usually book something on my own. On this cruise, I'm just going to Margaritaville in Grand Turks, cab to the shopping area in Kingston and at the private beach . . . may get off the ship, look around, dip my toes in the sand and water and then get back on the ship. Not very exciting but R&R sounds nice right about now. Tammy

Kathy, how far is Jack's Shack from Margaritaville? I've heard so much about Jack's . . . would really like to visit but not into walking any great distance. Tammy

I just sorted through my pics and combined mine and my boyfriend's together. And I realized that we really didnt do too much....and I was sooooooo okay with that :) More than anything, I just needed to relax and do NOTHING!

It was perfect. I must say, I really miss it.

My theory? So they could sell me a watch from the gift shop. :p

I always use my cell phone to keep track of time, and completely forgot I couldn't do that on the ship. So I told hubby unless he wanted me asking him what time it was 18 times a day, he should let me buy a watch. He agreed. :D
