Freedom - Choosing a Room - What's the difference?

I went to my travel agent and she was showing my two different rooms that she wanted me to pick from and one was $50 more then the other. I could not figure out what the difference is and she told me there was not much of a difference. I chose the cheaper room obviously, but thought I would see what people who have actually been on the ship think. I took a room on deck 8 right in the middle. The other choice that I turned down was also in the middle but on deck 9 - I figured it is only an extra flight of stairs or elevator ride that I am paying for to go up one deck.... Am I wrong?

Hard to answer since you didn't post what catagory cabin you took over what catagory you turned down. If you are in a balcony cabin in the "middle" of deck 7, then you are probably in an E1 which is about 24 Sq. ft. smaller than a D catagory which may have been the cabin on deck 9. But other than that, yes, it's just another flight of stairs.

The higher deck you are, the more expensive the cabin (in most cases). Location is everything regarding ship's pricing. Lower decks....cheaper. Higher decks....costly!

The cabin that I chose was a D2.... the other one was a D1 just higher up - really just a flight of stairs could cost an extra $50 per person? Is it that big of a deal?

It's one extra flight of stairs if you want to run up to the pool area or the WJ.

a D2 holds 2 people a D3 3 or 4 people, that's the only difference
