Statendam to Hawaii -- 3Oct2005

I'm thinking of doing the 10/3 Hawaii on the Statendam.

 

Does anyone know if the ship has the compleat SOE upgrades in all the cabins yet? Such as the CD/DVD player with flat screen tv.

Vic, if you want to do a bit of scrolling, you should be able to find a thread listing out the schedule for the SOE upgrades on all the ships. The thread was started a couple (?) of days ago; I do remember that it came to the top at least once, so it should be on one of the first three pages of the forum.

 

IIRC, Stevesan started it. If you can't find it using the scrolling method you could try linking to it when you see his name in a thread.

We too are seriously considering this trip on 10/3. This will be the first time on Holland-America for us. Have you heard anything about this particular itinerary or the ship? It seems to us this should be a beautiful cruise.

I've been on the Statendam 3 times, the 1st being during her inaugaral year (1993, I think). What I remember is that the ship is beautiful, inside and out! I'm just curious as to how she looks now, and would love to see her before she goes to the Orient.

 

So if I go, it'll be like a sentimental journey for me!

I've done the Hawaii run many moons ago on the old Rotterdam V.

Now that was a voyage to remember!

 

I figure if I play my cards right, I'll be on board this Oct.

And sailing to Hawaii is the BEST way to do those islands!

I'd book it again for next year in a heartbeat. Just thinking about it now makes me really wanna go! I'd book it if I were you... you won't be disappointed.

The Statendam didn't have it when we sailed her to Hawaii in December, but I think she's scheduled for it this year. Happy Sailing!

HAL's website shows the SOE update for the Statendam to be completed in the Spring of 2005. It should be ready for you.

I've been told that it's a wonderful voyage. I was originally booked for Hawaii on the Statendam this October, but cancelled it in favor of the 30-day Hawaii/South Pacific in January on the Amsterdam.

 

I think the Amsterdam is doing this Hawaii itinerary in 2006, though ... not the Statendam any longer.
