Crusin6 Posted October 20, 2010 #101 Share Posted October 20, 2010 Nothing to do with zealots. Everything to do with reality. There is nothing good about cigarette smoke. Many addicts will continue to deny. This isn't surprising since smoking itself is an illogical, self-destructive act. well said
Upandadam Posted October 20, 2010 #102 Share Posted October 20, 2010 I think the second hand smoke thing is all a matter of degrees. Does getting the ocassional whiff of the nasty stuff from an adjoining balcony contribute to cancer? Highly doubtful. Does continuous exposure to it in high quantities over a period of years in an enclosed environment contribute to cancer? Probably could. But for me to think that just smelling it is the same as breathing it in like a smoker......not going to happen.

Kurbanfan Posted October 20, 2010 #104 Share Posted October 20, 2010 an excellent compromise would be to have certain cabins restricted as smoking..all others..non smoking...including balconies. and a portion in the aft part of the Lido also not smoking. And of course, just like on land...no smoking in any indoor venue..including the casino. I vote for imposing the same regulations on the ship as are imposed in the majority of the United States.....regardless of what flag the ship sails under. I bet the CCL offices in Miami have a policy. The only problem with this would be the cabins........many more would want non smoking versus smoking......and remember balconys would have the same regulations as the cabin itself. Which means smoking outside including balconies.....
Kurbanfan Posted October 20, 2010 #105 Share Posted October 20, 2010 not illogical at all. Many do it for pleasure, taste etc not addiction. You could say that about many things, sky diving being just one example. lmao!!!

Crusin6 Posted October 20, 2010 #107 Share Posted October 20, 2010 Which means smoking outside including balconies..... reread my post....if a cabin is considered non smoking...the balcony follows suit. So smoking on the balcony if it were a smoking designated cabin only.
