Ruby Princess Dining questions

We just did the 12 night Med cruise on her, she is lovely. On formal nights everyone who eats in any dining room is expected to follow the dress code. Of course this didnt' include the Calypso buffet, and the other buffet, if it was open at night.

We ordered room service on Lobster night for our balcony. Just called the room service number, the operator is instructed to tell you that you can't order the lobster and the other stuff off the dining room menu, but she will offer to have her "manager" call you back if you press the issue. Within minutes someone calls you back, apologizes, and then, the next thing you know you are setting your table on the balcony, using a beach towel for a tablecloth, your battery operated candle for the centerpiece, and so on. A little bit later a knock on the door and you have your entire dinner delivered. It was great.

We don't usually take our formal clothes with us, so this was really a nice thing to do. And NO, it was not the Ultimate Balcony Dinner, there was no waiter waiting on us, just room service.

I must say we didn't dress up in formal wear, but did have on respectable clothing and we strolled down to the atrium, found a table in the corner, had coffee, watched all the tuxedos and suits and gown go by. Of course there were those in cut off sweat pants mingling--boy did they look out of place.

Just curious, did you have a full suite?
