New booking...Need Ft. Lauderdale Hotel Advice

We just booked a cruise leaving Ft. Lauderdale on the 15th of January. Been looking today for our pre-cruise hotel close to the port and would like to know where you found a good rate. Any help would be appreciated as we are not familiar with the area. Thanks. (We have looked at the Fla departure site)

I booked my hotel on Priceline. We stayed a couple of years ago and got the Courtyard Marriott on the beach. There is a thread on the florida departure board that tells what everyone is bidding the hotels won and the zones.

 

Better bidding.com is another site that helps to understand how it works if you haven't ever bid before. We have always been pleased with our hotels by bidding for at least a 3 star hotel. Usually pay about 1/2 the going rate.

We're staying at the Springhill Suites before our cruise in January. The rooms are a little larger (separate sitting area and bedroom) and they offer pick up from the airport and shuttle to the port the next day.

We stayed at the La Quinta. They have a FREE shuttle from the airport and a FREE shuttle to the port.

We stayed at "W" in nov. for pre-cruise. We really enjoyed it.
