price drop, post 5/17 booking, credit or OBC?

Recommended Posts

Last week I booked an E1 balcony for Jan 24,2011 on NOS for $479.00pp

Paid in full via phone with RCCL Today they have D1's for $379.00.

Do I qualify for price reduction or OBC? Also, anyone ever stay in an

AFT balcony deck 8 on NOS? Appreciate any feedback. It has been

two and a half years since last cruise, can't wait TO GET OUT THERE.

You most likely do not qualify for the obc, but you may be able to upgrade to the D1 for the same rate that you paid. I am assuming, of course, that your final payment date has passed since you state you already paid in full.

You can get OBC. We just got $218 for our Adventure cruise in Feb. We booked our cruise Dec of 2009. :)

You booked before 5/17/10, when the policy changed, so yes--you were able to get a credit when your cabin price dropped. The OP booked after 5/17/10, and since the cruise she booked is already passed the final payment deadline, I doubt she will get any kind of credit or price reduction. As someone else pointed out though, she may be able to upgrade to the higher cabin category.

Thanks waterbug. I missed read that it said Post 5-17-10. I guess I've had too many Mojitos! lol:rolleyes:

you are not eligible for obc or drop, only upgrade.

If you book via a travel agent, will Royal Caribbean refuse to upgrade you or give you OBC and make you go back to your Travel Agent?

Or can these price drops/upgrades be handled via RC?

Your TA must handle the change, they wont talk to you. Call your agent and have them take care of it.

As SueL said, you can get the D cabin but you will not get the difference back in cash, credit or OBC. All you can get is the larger cabin.

So enjoy it!

I believe that the cabin category with the $379 price tag is a D3.

Your choices are pretty much all the way forward or all the way aft.

I'd take 6546 if I were you.

Thanks for the feedback. How about AFT balcony room? Anyone ever stay in one on deck 8? Most posts I have read realy like the size and the view. One post commented that the balcony is big but not private

because the AFT rooms on deck 10 overlook deck 8 and 9 balconies
