Recommendations for a venice restaurant

Since its a large group they said the restaurant might want some kind of guarantee (im assuming a cc) and they suggested I call, not sure if that is the reason why

In general, I would suggest looking for a restaurant down an alleyway, off of the main streets. We had very nice meals when we did this and our worst meal was at a restaurant on the Strada.

Well all has ended well. I had read about the book Chow Venice and downloaded it on my E reader last night, the ladies who wrote the book lived in venice and actually still visit several months a year and still go to all of the restaurants in their book. They also give their email addresses and I emailed them about it, I cannot begin to tell you how helpful they were. They know the restaurant well and the owner and told me how to get in touch with him so I am going to do that, she just said to wait until we are closer to cruising so I will probably do it in march.

 

I cant recommend this book enough, not to mention how helpful the authors are and their online website as well! Turns out they will be in venice when we are...I invited them to dinner lol
