The letter we recieved for our change in itenerary states:

"Shore excursions purchased in Mazatlan will be automatically refunded to your Sail and Sign account. There is lots to do and see in Cabo San Lucas. We are confident the extra day will provide you with the time to enjoy some additional sites in this beautiful port. Once on board, please visit our shore excursion desk located on Lobby, deck 3-Forward so you can get startedon planning your activities in Cabo."

The new itenerary effects all three ports (new dates for each port) which means the excursion I purchased for Puerto Vallarta is for the wrong date. My question is does any one know do I need to go to the shore excursion desk in order to re-order this excursion once on board or are theey going to simply change the dates. They do not mention PV at all in the above paragraph.

I'm wondering the same thing, hope someone has an answer to your question.

I agree, but I did enjoy walking around Mazatlan.

I wonder why the ship leaves Cabo in the evening and returns the next morning. Why not remain at anchor all night? That would be so cool!

Casinos cannot open while within the 12 mile boundary, must be in international waters for the slot machines to take your money.

We are considering this cruise and I also thought it would be cool to be able to have some night life in Cabo. Told DW that we could get a room in Cabo for the night, but that would require packing, paying for a room that we've already paid for on the ship, etc. But, still it would be fun. Anyone know how far the Red Rocker's bar is from the pier? (Sammy Hagar)

Is everyone missing the point... ? Mazatlan is out through August 2011 because of issues relating to the SAFETY of the passengers. With the escalating crime in that area (some of it against tourists, cruise passengers and crew members) it's past time that a cruise line makes a point... Now maybe the authorities will do something to curb the violence. Losing that many people each week will surely make the point that we won't come, if they don't clean up their house!

So what is wrong with my suggestion of going to La Paz instead of spending two days in Cabo?

I was happy with the new schedule, two days in Cabo followed by a longer stay in PV. But it would be much better if Carnival allowed us to stay in Cabo that first night at least until 11, if not overnight, to make up for the loss of a port. Alternatively, Zihuatanejo would be a great substitution for Mazatlan.

I have done the two-day to Cabo on the Elation, and would have liked to sample the Cabo night life. I've also been to Manzanillo on the Spirit and don't feel any need to go back there. But Zihua was a charming town.

Cabo is a tender port and there may be safety issues related to tendering in the dark.

Zihuatanejo would not work. It is too far south and requires too much travel time. Zihuatanejo gets fitted into eight night cruises.

I posted the above qustion and others stated that they had the same, but no one could answer. I found out the answer this morning.

All booked excursions in PV will be automatically switched to the new date, no further action is needed.

Cabo Wabo Cantina is Sammy Hagars place. It's an easy walk from the pier. That will be one of my stops in August~:D
