Not so "LIVE" Allure of the Seas Review with PIX!

Recommended Posts

Really enjoying your review Michelle. Thank you! We are going on the Allure on the 1st May.

Did you eat at Chops Grille? I really want to go there, but there are no times other than 5.30 offered online so I am hoping we may be able to book something when we are onboard. Did you book all of your dinner options before you left, or could you book onboard? We have booked Rita's Fiesta. We are also staying on Deck 8, so I'm really happy that you said it is such a great spot. Looking forward to reading more. :)

You're so welcome! Thanks for reading! :)

We did eat at Chop's - I highly recommend it. YUMMY! May I suggest that you book the 5:30 time slot, then see if you can change it once onboard. This way at least you can have dinner there one way or another. If you don't book now, and there are no reservations available on board, then you won't get to try it. :(

We booked almost all our reservations online - all but one. We went to Rita's Cantina on the second formal night (stay tuned for that!) and were able to walk right in. Dinner is not busy there unless it's a Fiesta night.

Have a great cruise!

Day 5 - St. Martin

Today we call on St. Martin - a favorite port of ours (we honeymooned there). We thought about going to Orient Beach, but, after Jason saw how empty the ship was, we decided to stay on the ship! We did get off for about an hour to buy a couple of gifts and taste the Guavaberry rum. YUM! We brought a bottle home!

Would you believe that I rarely drink?!

We were back on the ship by noon. Jason went straight to the pool deck while I took advantage of the quiet ship. I needed some photos without so many people in them.

Books could be checked out using the honor system. A notebook was on a side table - you just added your stateroom number and title, then returned the book by the end of the cruise.

Back on the Boardwalk, I thought the kids' play area was great! Just one more "extra" to cater to families.

I loved the Boardwalk concept. There were plenty of places to eat, and worked great as an entertainment venue (Aqua Theater, character meet & greet, and Carousel). There are shopping venues as well, including candy, toys, and photos. This area caters to famlies, but everyone can find a little something there.

Michele thanks so much for the great review, loving every installment in word and picture.

How many pics did you take in total?

Of all the restaurants you ate in, which did you feel was best value for money? Ritas looks like a really relaxed fun place to dine and enjoy a few drinks. Could you imagine face on the waiter if you asked for Margaritas with your dinner in MDR :D:D:D

Thanks for reading. :)

Oasis has the Seafood Shack, no Rita's.

The food was decent - nothing great/gourment, but I enjoyed it. We went a second time so we could order off the menu and I thought the food was good then too. Stay tuned to find out what I ordered. ;)

Have a great cruise!

Thanks so much for the reply, Michele. Do you know if the Seafood Shack does the same thing as far as the fee & 3 drink tickets? :D
