In a cruise summary on Eclipse, I clicked on the ship and saw a description of the ship which displayed as:

Non-smoking Dining: Yes

Non-smoking Ship No

This is surprising as I thought Celebrity was totally non smoking!!

They are pretty close but not quite there. There are smoking areas on the ships. Smoking in any cabin is not permitted.

From their FAQ:

For all Celebrity ships' date=' smoking is not permitted inside any stateroom or on any stateroom veranda. Cigarette smoking will only be permitted in designated indoor and outdoor areas of the ship, while cigar and pipe smoking will only be permitted in designated outdoor areas. Smoking will not be permitted in any dining venue, casino, theater, hallway, elevator or corridor. Violations to this smoking policy will result in a $250 cleaning fee being charged to the guest's onboard account and may also be addressed through Celebrity Cruises' Guest Conduct Policy. Cigarettes, cigars and pipe tobacco must be properly disposed of and never thrown overboard. A guest must be at least 18 years of age to purchase, possess or use tobacco onboard.

Additionally, there is a non-smoking policy on all components of the land tour portion of all Celebrity Cruises cruisetour products. We appreciate your understanding and adherence.

I believe there are about 5 spots on the ship where you were allowed to smoke, and only one of them was indoors -- that would be Port side in the Sky Lounge.

The outside areas were Port side Deck 5 right outside the Bistro, Port side on the Pool deck, but not inside the Solarium, Starboard side at the Mast Bar, and Starboard side at the Sunset Bar. The Sunset Bar is the only place where cigar/pipe smoking is permitted. There's usually a listing of smoking spots in the stateroom upon embarkation.

It's now a pleasure to walk into the Casino. :)
