AF-1 Posted May 27, 2011 #51 Share Posted May 27, 2011 Helen, cruisecritic has size restrictions on posting pics. However, I see on various threads large photos being shown. I am going to buzz over to Radio's Live thread; he posts some very large pics; I will ask him what program he uses and how he posts such large pics. Maybe this will help you in the future. Helen, here is a way to post pics on your thread This is how I post all pics to Cruise Critic. 1. All photos are first posted to my Photo Page. (Maximum 800x600. . .if larger -please resize) 2. I then begin a CC Post, and click on -POST REPLY- 3. I click on the Icon at the top of the Dialog Box that is titled -INSERT IMAGE- 4. I open a photo from my Photo Page, and click on Properties... 5. I copy the properties from the photo and paste them into the box that appears when you select -Insert Image_ 6. I then click on -Submit Reply-
deniuh Posted May 27, 2011 #52 Share Posted May 27, 2011 luv2zdworld: We did get to see a ship leaving but am I bad for forgetting which one it was? Was so tired and excited that it just left my mind. Oh,but we saw dolphins and a MANATEE!! Everyone stood up to look at that. Never saw one before so that was VERY exciting! I presigned waivers on the RCCL cruise site for the wave rider and rock climbing wall but you do have to go down to the promenade deck to get your tickets to the ice show. It will be in the compass and my husband got ours on Mon. morning for that evening. It really was spectacular.;) I was on the same cruise. I remember Disney Dream leaving and Carnival but I can't remember which Carnival Ship it was. My husband said it was Inspiration but that's debatable!! I sent (I hope) the compasses to everyone who asked. If you didn't receive them or are missing any let me know. I now have the flu so not hitting on much. Day 4: Falmouth, Jamaica Awoke to another beautiful morning and went up to the Windjammer this morning for breakfast. Very crowded but still plenty of places to sit. I am amazed that I haven't run into 1 rude person yet. All these people and seems everyone is just nice and here for the same reasons we are. I meant to mention that our room Steward is Yvonne from Jamaica. Can't say enough good about her. Always smiling and never seemed to stop cleaning. We talked to her at length a couple of times and really enjoyed her...just a delight! After breakfast we went up to our balcony to watch the ship pull in..er..back in..YAY. We can now see the pier first!
Helen Posted May 27, 2011 Author #56 Share Posted May 27, 2011 We head off the ship as soon as it docks because the boys are supposed to depart as soon as we arrive:rolleyes: We go one way and they go another and wouldn't see them till sail away. Tim and I booked the Rose Hall Hilton for the day at Jamaic for a day dot com. We juste wanted a relaxing cruise so you'll see our pattern throughout the week. We have been the Western route 5 times so we have been to stingray city multiple times and have done all the snorkeling and Dunns River falls. If you haven't done that it really shouldn't be missed. Great experience but don't need to go back. The guys opted for the Appleton Rum factory tour which is a good deal away from Falmouth. We have been before and wanted to go somewhere close. The Hilton is only 10 or 15 min. from the pier and was a perfect day for us. We arrived and payed the rest of what we owed less deposit. I believe it was 75 total. We took a taxi over and was 20 for both of us. My first thought is that the grounds, pool, beach are very nice. Not over the top great but very nice. We went right to the beach and got a couple of chairs with a little shade from the palms above. The beach is narrow but the water felt great. I brought our insulated travel cups and when we wanted a drink I just took them to the bar and they filled them up. Even great for beer since they just otherwise give you small little plastic cups that would get warm in minutes. After about an hr. we headed up to the pools (they have 2) and enjoyed the Lazy River rided. I became so addicted that I think I just floated in there for what seemed like hours!:p Lunch time rolled around and we chose an open air restaurant overlooking the beach (they're are 4 to choose from). Standard lunch fare and we opted for hamburger and fish..both good. Service was slow but who cares. After several hrs. of more of the same we decided to leave around 3:30 to allow plenty of time to get back. We thanked the concierge and asked for a taxi and she said that they're complimentary shuttle was getting ready to leave for the Rose Hall shops and from there are ship's compimentary shuttle would take us back. Great idea!! Hopped right on and just a few min. to the shops (typical shops) and jumped on RCCL's shuttle back to the ship. So nice to have something free!!:D We got back in min. and headed to the balcony to relax and watch for the guys. We would still be watching at the time of sailaway.... Now for the guys' story. They went to their designated place for their tour and after several people boarded a van, they, and 3 others were told that they overbooked and there would be another vehicle there within min. I have to interject here that there is NO shade at that dock and it was about 90*. After an hr. and 1/2 someone finally picked them up. I booked this through RCCL and glad I did. They were now wayyyy behind everyone else. They felt rushed but the tour itself is the same length as everyone else's so they are very late leaving. Feeling no pain at first from all the free rum samples, they didn't seem too concerned when their driver started out like a bat out of Hell but adrenaline took hold and they became a little concerned when he took hairpin turns flying into the oncoming lane while steady blowing the horn. At one point they said a school bus was unloading and they were very frightened for the children. Meanwhile...I am on the balcony with my binoculars, looking, looking, looking, and no guys. We are mins. from sailaway time and still no guys. Not that I am worried that they'll leave without them but that something has happened...I'm thinking accident. Getting very nervous, when finally I spot them. Thank goodness. Of course we hear the whole story. They said they kept saying slow down but to no avail. Youngest son is the most verbal and goes to the desk to complain. They did give them 50 percent credit on their accounts (hey, wait a min...I paid for it, not them)! We pull away mins. after they arrive. Glad they are safe and we had another nice day. We went to the Pub before dinner for a drink and repeated our daily visit to the Casino after dinner. The guys went to the Crypt later and we called it a night.;)

Rare WNcruiser Posted June 26, 2011 #62 Share Posted June 26, 2011 Can anyone who sailed Freedom (Western) recently tell me if they turn the clock back one hour? All 4 ports are on Central time so curious if the clocks are changed back one hour after the first night or if you stay on Eastern time. Wildcatfish Posted June 26, 2011 #63 Share Posted June 26, 2011 Everyone stay's on "ship's time". The ship remains on Eastern time throughout the entire cruise, despite the time change in Cozumel.
