carnival miracle

Well just finished the 8 day trip out of new york. First time carnival cruiser and cant say that i was that impressed. The worst was the smoking in the bars especially the sports bar. Food was horendous especially in the main dining room. Basically stuck with the buffet and ate at nick and norras 3 nights which was good. Liked celebrity much better, especially for the non smoking factor. Food was better, and they also offer the drink package which is a big factor for us. We were on with a group which made it fun but other than that we probably wont sail with carnival again!

Sorry you didn't enjoy your experience on the Miracle. We have cruised on her 2x, and I'm looking forward to our 3rd sailing in November.

Hope you enjoy your future cruise experiences no matter which line you choose.

Guess we like celebrity. Only went on this trip cause we had met a group on a previous cruise. Pools were great, just didnt like the food or the smoking! The stops were great, but i like the fact of the drink package! Much a bonus for us. HOpe you have a great trip

Sorry to hear you didn't have a great experience on your Miracle cruise. I'm a bit worried about the smoke on my upcoming cruises, I think Carnival allows smoking in a few more places than most lines do... Will have to work around it is all.

I'm shocked to hear about the food, so many say its so wonderful!! I do think Celebritys food is the best of any line I have cruised, but they are also markedly more than Carnival. So when I go on my upcoming Carnival cruises I won't be expecting Celeb quality food... Hoping to be pleasantly surprised tho!:p (it's been awhile since my last cruise with Carnival)

Glad you still enjoyed your cruise with good company!

I agree about the smoke in the sports bar. We were on there for the NCAA Championship, and I couldn't watch it in there because of the smoke (and because the game was so boring:p). I would say that the Miracle was not one of my favorite ships. There are several things that I liked so much better about the other Carnival ships I've been on. But I am surprised to hear what you say about the food. I liked Miracle's food, and I'm a pretty picky eater. I would say that my other Carnival ships might have been slightly better. But still, Carnival isn't for everyone. I'd probably get bored on the more upscale lines, but plenty of people enjoy those.

.....that you didn't fully enjoy your Miracle cruise. My best cruises have been on that ship and I am looking forward to my fourth time this August.

I totally agree about the smoke factor though.

:D

I sailed on Celebrity last year, and DH and I both thought that the food on Carnival was much better. We're sailing on the Miracle in 2 weeks, so we shall see.... Sorry you didn't enjoy it so much, but I'd rather be anywhere with someone else doing the cooking and cleaning...:D

We sailed the Miracle just a few weeks ago. What a disappointment for us as well, but not for the smoke, even though we're non-smokers.

This was just not the Carnival atmosphere we had years ago. I don't if it was the time of year or what, but the average age was at least 65-70. Nothing wrong with that, but perhaps that's why there was such a lack of activities.

Food selection in the buffet was marginal. Their chocolate "buffet" consisted of a fountain with fruit and poundcake. No brownies, cakes, pies, etc.

And don't get me started on the decor of this ship.

Maybe a newer Carnival ship would be for us, because it might have more to offer.

Could you please tell me about the Celebrity ships you were on and the level of activities they offer?

I'm so scared to go on carnival miracle now. I haven't seen many good reviews about this boat. I have done Carnival Sensation and the food and entertainment was great , I just hope I have fun. I'm sailing from NY

Sorry to hear that your cruise on the Miracle wasn't a good one. We love the Miracle, and her sister ship the Pride (as you can see from past cruises and upcoming ones below).

Food is always subjective and we have had cruises that can be a bit hit or miss in that department.

The smoking, we have found, it highly dependent upon the group that is onboard that particular week. We did smoke and now do not and notice that the amount of smoking onboard can vary greatly.

If you cruise during "non-peak" times - the demographic can be much "older" than what you may expect from Carnival. Being in May - a lot of families just cannot take time out of school, etc. to get the younger group on board.

We hope you enjoy your cruising - on whatever line it may be!!

I also am concerned about above comments. I will be on the Miracle next month. I am new to cruising and have only been on Norwegian once. I have read so many comments on just go and enjoy and thats what I intend to do.

Go and have a great time. Not all food will be great but somebody making the comment the food was horrendous does not have any credibility with me.

This is our 5th cruise on the Miracle..not one complaint. I do agree with the smoking though, however it doesn't bother me enough to look at other lines. I limit time in the casino if it's very smokey.

We are cruising the Miracle in August. I am sorry your cruise was not what you thought it would be. Vacations are hard to come by and the money investment is great.

I am not worried about any of the factors mentioned. I can always find something to eat that I like. As others have said if I am not going to the grocery store buying it, lugging it in the house, cooking or cleaning it, I am thrilled.

The smoking can be tough I agree, but we will take a break from those places when we have to.

We will make our own fun and the summer will probably be different than May. Either way I live for vacation and so unless the ship sinks it will be a fabulous time. Vacation is what you make of it. The great thing about cruising in general is, there are so many choices out there!

You do not have to look to hard to find good reviews on the Miracle.. She consistantly gets great reviews.. Yes, she is not for everybody..

I have just done my last two cruises on her, and seriously thinking of rebooking next year if they ever come out with the schedule..

Think positive..:)

If you are sailing on The Miracle and you want a No Smoking area go hang out in The Piano Bar, it is now a no smoking lounge. Enjoy you will have the place to yourself.

Wow! Good to know, was this the case when you sailed a few weeks ago? I've seen alot of people say that they would really enjoy the piano bar except for all the smoke...

Yes that was the case there is a No Smoking policy but all the people who said they would really enjoy the SMOKE FREE piano bar never showed up on the nights we walked by and I happen to know that this was the case on cruises after ours. No big deal to us except we use to like go in there late nights hang out sing along. drink, spend MONEY and now we don't. But we use to really enjoy our time in there along with many other people in The Piano Bar and we hope the people who like smoke free lounges go in there and take advantage of it. You wanted it and you got it.

Have a great cruise and let's hope that by the time you get back from your cruise that Rex and the Jets will be in training camp getting ready for the 2011/2012 season.
