Players Club pricing?

Have you seen the Players Club pricing on Carnival's website?

I just checked prices on my two upcoming cruises. I knew one of them was booked at a "casino rate" but my other cruise is offering it, too!

Haven't yet checked with PVP to see about it. I'm guessing I can price match it to Early Saver?

Let us know. My guess is the opposite, that it might be considered a promotional rate and excluded.

You may be right, though, because it doesn't show up using the FareViewer. I only saw it because I like to check prices using the Find A Cruise link from their home page.

It seems if it's a "lower advertised fare" on the Carnival site, they should honor it, but maybe that theory is too logical. :D

How do they determine who gets Players Club Pricing?

I think it's for people who spend time and money in the casino. How much time (or money)? I don't know...but I spend quite a few hours there on every cruise. :D

I was logged into the Carnival site when I saw that rate, if that matters...

Just a quick semi-update: I haven't heard back yet from Carnival as a result of sending in the form, but I talked with my PVP just now about something else, so I asked him about the VIP rate. He said that since I'm booked Early Saver on my Magic cruise, YES---the lower VIP rate would apply. He wasn't able to manually apply it but said I should hear back with a positive answer to the request on the form. :)

If you don't mind me asking - where on the website do you find player's club pricing? I looked at the "regular" CCL website, and the player's club link. I am going on the 8/26 Miracle player's club cruise - but even then I had to call for pricing due to a postcard I received. I would love to know if there is special pricing for my already booked cruises. Thanks for the info.

I'm currently on the Carnival website and cannot see the Casino pricing. I thought you had to call the Players Club directly to book cabins at their rate, as they have to determine what price to quote based on past activity in one of their casinos.

Am I missing something?

I was logged into the Carnival site. From the Carnival home page, I used the Find A Cruise link in the upper left.

Then I filled out the info for my Magic cruise (4/22 from Galveston).

Here's a screen shot with the "i" icon and the red "Special Offer."

The next screen---where you choose inside, balcony, etc., also had that "i" icon.

The pricing screen showed this.

FWIW, I booked my November cruise on the Triumph through my PVP. If the VIP rates advertised online are like the one on my Triumph cruise, you can make lots of changes...adding people, dropping people, moving people, etc. I know because after I booked three of us in a cabin, I later called and added a fourth person and split the four of us up into two different cabins. :)

ADDED: It is only on select ships and select sailings.

Thank you for the screen shot you took! I have never seen anything like that, and I check different cruises (and my own) several times each day. I guess CCL is trying a different "route" to get new bookings!

You could always try it on the Magic 4/22 sailing to see if it works for you. :)

JOIN THE CLUB

Ready to join the funnest club at sea? Once you're aboard, just keep your Sail & Sign card inserted at all times when playing the slots and -- if you meet the minimum play criteria -- you will be automatically enrolled. Or, if you're playing at the tables, the table games supervisor will be happy to advise you regarding the minimum play criteria and benefits.

If you spend much time (or money) in the casino, I'd think it should have shown up.

Finally got the email that my price drop WAS APPROVED on the form I filled out! YAY! It's $26 per person and there are three of us, so that's a couple of rounds of drinks! :)

When I booked, I got a players club rate of $819 with $100 casino cash for an OS. I looked today and the rate was $739. I called my PVP and she credited me $160! Yayyyyy!!

So you're seeing the VIP rates, too?

It was starting to kinda freak me out that nobody else could see them.

I'd love to know what they consider minimum play criteria!~! It sounds like there are quite a few perks to this club once you get in  We were supposed to get a fruit basket on our last cruise but it never came. I had forgotten about it until we were home.

Never mind. Was able to find them again. Tried to check four or five times and could not get the "i" but eventually did. We are set to sail on Aug. 18 and just found out about these rates. We booked Wednesday, and these rates seem to have been available then. I never log on to my Carnival account when pricing things out, and I checked Cruise Critic a few hours too late it would seem. Did not book through Carnival so I would guess we are out of luck. Would have saved $120. Sigh. Did Carnival PVPs know about this? Unless people sign onto their Carnival account and do their search through "FIND A CRUISE," how would they know? The times I have been signed on I have clicked on advance search to select Florida for state of residency and mark past guess (am platinum). Have a message in to my TA, who is great to work with. Hope something can be done. How would one know about the rate unless someone told them? I guess that is my big question.

I'm not sure how people would know about it.

What I found this morning is that I don't see the VIP rates using the Quick Search (or whatever it's called) but I do see them using the Find A Cruise link.

You wondered if PVPs knew. Well, I booked a cruise July 30 (for November on the Triumph). I'd already researched it online so I knew the price, but when I called my PVP, he said he could get me an even better rate...a "casino" rate. I took it! But he didn't say whether I should have been able to see it myself, so he may not have known or it may not have been implemented on Carnival's site at that time.

It was a few days later when I actually saw it and submitted an Early Saver reduction for my Magic cruise in April.

If you had booked Early Saver, which you obviously couldn't because of the short time frame, you could have had the price adjusted. Instead of fretting about the $120 you could have saved, get busy booking more cruises! The rates are great, you get casino cash, and the flexibility with those rates are terrific! Almost unlimited...unlike Early Saver. :) I think the rates are only going to be available through September 22, so I'm probably going to book at least one more cruise...or two...
