Pools

Just curious as to why salt water would ruin the plumbing? I know nothing about plumbing, but we have a saltwater pool at home (over 20 years old) and the plumbing's just fine. I actually prefer to swim in saltwater.

Salt corrodes metal. Is your pool plumbing made of PVC, not metal?

Ruth, I have absolutely no idea but assume the pipes must be plastic, as the pool is still functioning well after 22 years. Salt water pools are very popular here, as they're easier on the eyes and require slightly less maintenance (although my husband might disagree with the maintenance bit, since that's partly his job).
