? about make-up mirror

I've got two questions about the make-up mirror HAL provides on the dressing table.

 

1. Is it lighted?

2. Anyone know the magnification?

 

I'm blinder than a bat for close up stuff and for the life of me I haven't been able to learn how to put on eye make-up on with my glasses on my face. :eek: Trying to figure out if I need to bring my own.

I have not experienced the mirrors in the suites but in the verandah and below cabins the mirrors are dimly lit. I usually use the bathroom mirror if I want to see what I am putting on my face. Magnification: Scary! I don't use a magnifying mirror yet but when I look into the one on the ship I don't like what I see. Just did a web search and found 5x.

I bring my small 20X mirror. :eek: I like the HAL one but wish it had higher magnification. It is lit though.

HAL's 5x mirror just doesn't quite do it so I take a small 10x for my close ups. I makes a nice night light though, if you forget to pack one. Just turn it away from you and the glare will not keep you awake.

In the suites, the makeup mirrors in the dressing are 5X, on a short arm, and very, VERY dimly lit. I've complained about it every time, but one voice won't change anything. I take a 5X BigEye for a closeup look.

My b*tch is that the light is very dim and a funny color (pink?). So you have no idea how you're doing with application(s). Somehow, I always manage to look presentable. LOL!

I find the dresser magnifying mirror to be useless. Too dark, never use it. Not enough light at the dressing table for me. And tinted mirrors are also useless.
