Monday, September 19th cont....

So today was our 1st full Sea Day. After lunch (or breakfast for us today ;)), we took some more pics around of the ship, here they are.

This one is the glass elevators in the atrium area:

Here is picture of the atrium area (looking up) showing all the artwork:

Speaking of artwork, there was all kinds of wild artwork on this ship. There was a naked man in the David's Steakhouse, you could see everything, he had nothing covering anything. I didn't take a picture of that, but here is a picture I shot on the Lido, deck 9 to show some of the artwork, this area was called the Mermaid Grille:

About 1:30 pm, they had the master mixologist contest, we watched that for awhile. Here are the contestants, the lady on the right side end won, her name was Rhonda, she made a drink called "Berry Hurricane". Here are the contestants:

DSC01578.jpg

The neat thing about winning this contest is you get your name & drink in the Funtimes each day, so her name and drink was in there each day!

Here is a pic of us snacking at some point during the day:

Here is another pic of the Lido Deck area:

Here's a shot of the slide:

By the time we relaxed the day away, it was getting close to 5:00pm. We had anytime dining, which we love, wouldn't want to have assigned dining for anything! We love the flexibilty of going when we please! So we headed back to the room to get ready for formal night. Here I am before we got showers and got ready for formal night:

I think that I was playing blackjack with you on the last night.

Cool! Which one was you?? Yes, we played blackjack for a long time on Saturday afternoon, where were you sitting at the table? That will remind me of who you are! :)

I am enjoying your review... and cannot wait to learn about Bermuda!

What kind of camera did you use.. the pictures are fabulous!

Thanks for sharing your trip!

Catrin

Glad you are enjoying the review! Yes, stay tuned, I have a mass amount of info on Bermuda, and hundreds of pics!!

I brought 2 cameras, one for most of the trip and another for underwater. The one that I've used thus far is a Sony Cybershot 12.1 megapixels, its a great camera!

Monday, Sept. 19th continued...Formal Night #1

About 7:00pm we were all "formalized" to head to formal dinner. We both enjoyed this evening very much, and it was fun dressing up more than a normal dinner. We had your time dining in the Normadine Restraunt, Aft Deck 3.

As always, they love to sell pictures, so we thoght we would take a few on the way to dinner since we hardly dress up this much, plus its vacation, why not!!??! Here is two of the "professional photos we bought:

DSC02019.jpg

.......and then here is one of the "not-so professional" pics too:

DSC01598.jpg

We arrived about 7:15 to dinner that night and we had to wait for a seat, they said they were cleaning off a table, so we said no problem and sat at the bar right before you walk into the dining room, here we are:

And here is Joe, looking good:

I was playing blackjack at night and was getting the first card. I was playing the fun pairs and was getting quite a few. I believe you weren't palying at the time but your partner was. He started playing the fun pair and got a good one at the end just when I left the table. Me and my

DH came back to watch.

I was the blonde.

Ok, yes I think I remember you, yes, you and your husband were playing right? I was playing off and on that evening. Joe didn't stop though, and yes he had $10 on the fun pairs and hit suited pairs, so that was a nice one! :)

After dinner we wanted to catch the "Punchliner Comedians", so we hung around until 9:45 to watch the first show - Percy Crews, then stayed for the next one at 11:45 - Mike Panzeca. They both were pretty funny. After that we were tired, so we decided to head back to the room. Here was our towel animal for the night, along with invitations to the Past Guest Party going on the next day....

And of course, here is our FunTimes for the next day:

The next day, Tuesday Sept 20th, lets just start by saying "hold on to your hats partner!!!!!".........

Tuesday, September 20th, 2011:

We woke pretty early this morning, as the ship was shaking and the waves were pretty strong today. We woke about 9:00am and went and had breakfast in the Dining Room. We enjoyed sitting with 3 other couples and all discussing where we were from, and what our exciting plans were the next day in Bermuda. So that was a bunch of fun!

The ship was rocking pretty good most of today. When we left breakfast, there were several people that looked sick, sitting in chairs bent over, etc. We don't get sick normally from the boat, so we were ok but there were several that were not happy campers. Here is a picture I snapped on the way to breakfast:

DSC01570.jpg

You can tell the waves are quite choppy, and rough. At some points you literally had to hang on to the railing to not walk sideways, seriously it was bad at some points, so I could see if you get sick easily, it was gonna happen.

After breakfast we went our on Deck 3 and checked the waves out more "in person" and it was sooooo windy, LOL, bet you can't tell from this pic!!!:

DSC01569.jpg

DSC01566.jpg

After lunch, we decided to head to the room for awhile and relax. There weren't a lot of people out and about, but again I think it was because the boat was rocking and some people were sick.

Here is a pic of me (or should I say my feet!!!:p) relaxing on the balcony:

After we relaxed in the room for awhile, we headed up for a VERY light lunch, or should I say small snack about 1:00, as tonight at 8:00 was our appointment at David's Steakhouse! So we always get wayyyy too full at that, so we knew to keep it light so we would have plenty of room for Surf & Turf! :)

So here was our "invitation", or I like to call it our "reminder" to be at David's Steakhouse tonight:

DSC01611.jpg

So I am sure most of you know what David's Steakhouse is all about but for those that do not, its a very, very nice steakhouse with very, very fine cuts of meat, lobster, etc. Its $30 p/p, but WELL worth it. The steak is scrumptous!!! So since we dressed up formal last night and since tonight was casual night, we decided we weren't going to dress up to go to Davids but to wear nice jeans and a nice shirt. I called the steakhouse just to make sure that would be ok, they said no problem since its casual night.

So Joe relaxed in the room while I went and explored the ship a little bit more. Here are some additional ship pics:

Later in the afternoon, the seas had finally calmed down a bit, here you can tell:

More ship pictures, here is the Ivory Bar, also known as the Piano Bar, it was fun we went there one of the last nights, its just like any other piano bar, but it was fun!

DSC01582-1.jpg

Here is the "Sunset Garden". This was an area in the ship, like a sitting area, the few times we walked through here there was hardly anyone there. This was on both sides of Deck 3 I believe before you get to the Taj Mahal. It was on both sides of the Deck.

DSC01584.jpg

Here is the arcade room, I went there 2 times and Joe and I went together 1 time to play shuffleboard, all 3 times there was NEVER anyone in there, we were suprised at the least there weren't any kids in there??

DSC01585.jpg

It was getting close to time to start preparing for dinner at David's so off we went for showers again to get ready for dinner. Here are some sunset pics that night:

DSC01594-1.jpg

DSC01595-1.jpg

And, I think this is going to be a good note for me to end tonight on. Tomorrow I will continue with our experience in David's Steakhouse and even show some food porn!!!

Glad you are enjoying it. Don't worry, you will probably have 2 sea days on the way back from Bermuda, we had 2 on the way to. Are you going to be in Bermuda Tue, Wed, and leaving at noon Thurs? We were there Wed, Thurs, and half day Fri, sea day Sat and back to Baltimore Sun. I assume thats what they have done, we were also Sunday to Sunday.

Before we were getting ready for David's, I remember we were on our balcony enjoying the peace and quiet and we looked up and saw a ship in the distance! It was quite a long ways away, so I took a pic!:

DSC01628.jpg

Here we are, posing again, the sunset was too pretty to not take more pics:

DSC01638.jpg

Back to the David's Steakhouse and food porn!!! First, we got there there early, and were seated right away. It was funny when we first spoke to them about making a reservation, they acted like they were so booked up, so thats partly why we took the later dining, when we got there, there may have been 15 other people, which the steakhouse is pretty big, so thats means probably 15 tables empty, we were pretty suprised, but anyway that didn't take away from the good food & fun we had! Here is Joe inside the steakhouse, we were sat on the side by the window, which was great because we could watch the sunset completely.

DSC01652.jpg

Here was Joe's appetizer, have you ever seen such large shrimp??!!!!

DSC01647.jpg

Here was my appetizer, crab soup, it was GOOOOOOD!!:

Here is our waitress, making our salads, or should I say mixing them up:

DSC01649.jpg

Last year we both got the surf & turf, well the night before we both got lobster, so we decided we didn't want it again so we both ordered filet mignon's. These things were huge, below is a picture, but honestly they were probably 4-5" tall. The flavor was great and of course very tender, and very, very good! :)
