calex1976 Posted October 4, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 4, 2011 We will be going on the Freedom this January and are wondering weather to bring our on laundry soap. To cut down on packing we might be washing our on clothes while on the ship. Only planning on washing one or two loads for the week and two travel days. My GF is allergic to most soaps, does anyone know what soaps Carnival sells in the laundry area? If they do stock hypoallergenic soap no need in adding that to our packing, would be defeating the purpose of bringing less clothes.
TakeMeAway1001 Posted October 4, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 4, 2011 I never noticed any HA soaps and wouldn't rely on them having any, grab a couple of them at Target in trial size aisle just to be sure. I think I saw All Free & Clear the other night :) Have a great cruise
bills blasters Posted October 4, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 4, 2011 I think I only saw one kind of soap, Tide on our last cruise. It was not hyperalergenic. I would bring my own along just to make sure. claudia

Soonerbaby Posted October 4, 2011 #5 Share Posted October 4, 2011 Those 3 in 1 sheets by Purex are perfect for packing. I think you can even by them in small pack of like 5 or so.
skowtko Posted October 4, 2011 #6 Share Posted October 4, 2011 I am just off the Freedom and when I was there they had Surf and All and they are a dollar a load. It is three dollars to wash a load and three dollars to dry a load.

It is three dollars to wash a load and three dollars to dry a load. Thanks for the update, we could not find any travel size hypoallergenic soaps, so looks like we will just fill a travel bottle with Dreft. As for the Purex mentioned earlier, we are scared to try anything other than what we know works. After months of her constantly breaking out with whelps, we found that Dreft works great. gusandgidgetsmom Posted October 5, 2011 #8 Share Posted October 5, 2011 I always use the 3 in 1 sheets from Purex. We traveled for 30+ days this summer topped off by an Alaskan cruise so had a lot of laundry and the sheets were so easy to pack. I introduced several in the laundry room to them this time! My husband has allergies to several soaps but this one works well and does not bother him.
matj2000 Posted October 5, 2011 #9 Share Posted October 5, 2011 If you have issues with the soap, why don't you just put a couple scoops in a zip lock and be done with it? How much room can that take up? No ship is going to have any of these "special" detergents.
Rare Gail & Marty sailing away Posted October 5, 2011 #10 Share Posted October 5, 2011 I would bring Purex .
DEL67 Posted October 5, 2011 #11 Share Posted October 5, 2011 My daughter needs hyperallergenic soap so we fill 2 or 3 travel size containers with detergent and carry it in our suitcases.

okgirl Posted October 5, 2011 #13 Share Posted October 5, 2011 The soap is Tide powder and the fabric softener is liquid not sure of the brand but definitely liquid softener. I always bring my own purex 3n1 but also bring bounce dryer sheets cause I don't think the dryer sheet part of the 3n1 works all that well. gusandgidgetsmom Posted October 5, 2011 #14 Share Posted October 5, 2011 I have never had a problem with the sheets not working in the dryer. I have used them since they came on the market. I have to admit that I leave the first one in the addl loads maybe this makes a difference.
