Millennium dinner buffet

On our Millennium cruise the food in the buffet during dinner was the same as the food in the MDR only in buffet style. It was very quiet in the buffet since most people eat elsewhere and we enjoyed the night we ate there (we were select and skipped a night in the MDR to not have to do so many formal nights) There isn't anyone serving you really (it's a buffet), but there were waiters around and they brought us drinks and refilled coffee and even got us desserts while we waiting. We had a nice seat by the window.

Bottom line: not as classy, but not bad and a nice "calm" dinner compared to all the noise in the MDR.

Is there a dinner buffet on the Millennium? What is the "casual restaurant" for dinner like? Is there a menu? We are looking for dinner that doesn't take 2 hours.

At one time there was a Casual Dining Option which was served in one part of the buffet area, but with waiters, menus, etc. This no longer exists on X.

What you will find is a buffet that has some main courses, salads, desserts, pizza, pasta. It won't usually be the same food served in the MDR. But there will be meat and fish choices, some side dishes, and so forth. It is not as extensive as many cruise lines offer during dinner hours, but you won't starve. You may find that the teenagers on board congregate there during the evening, or it may be very quiet.

One of the few things we don't like much on Celebrity cruise ships is their evening buffet. We found the meat and fish options rather mediocre in regard to preparation and poor in quality. The best food we were able to get is the Indian food on offer. We have only been on M-class ships so far - we hope for better variations on the "Solstice".

We also liked the casual dining offered on "Millenium" in the past and I have often wondered why it is not a possible choice anymore.

They expanded the dinner buffet some when they eschewed the casual dining option. While the dinner buffet is not as extensive as the lunch buffet, there are several options. I would not want to eat there on a nightly basis, but for a couple of meals it'd do the trick.
