On the Norwegian Sea....yes....1/2 price the first night. Maybe it's that way on all the NCL ships.

In our NCL cruise experiences we found that sometimes it was 1/2 price the first night and sometimes it wasn't even on the same ship.

We were on the Star a couple of years ago, and on the Crown last month, and Le Bistro was half-price the first night, but only for the first hour they were open, which was 5:30 to 6:30. If your reservation was after 6:30, then you paid the full $15 per person. It should state this in your first Freestyle Daily, which will be on your bed when you first get to your cabin. Half-price or full-price, the food and service there were outstanding! Enjoy!

Cruisecrasy: Actually no...as a matter of fact you can only make reservations for that day and the next...(unless you have a penthouse or something like that). Wish you could though!

Oh...when we were on the Star last year there were no discounts for any of the specialty restaurants all week...

That's the procedure at the reservation desk in the lobby. I was able to make a reservation at le Bistro 2 or 3 days ahead by speaking directly to le Bistro's Maitre 'd... if you really want a reservation it might be worth trying that.
