Mariner arrival/departure delay?

We were on the Mariner's January 8 departure, which was also delayed because of the previous cruise's late arrival due to fog (I think they were in about noon if I remember correctly). We got a robocall from RCI just after noon telling us not to arrive at the pier until 6 PM. I also got the same information when I called RCI directly.

Jeff,

There is a cool site to see what the ships are doing. http://www.vesselfinder.com/

Mariner met with the Pilot boat about 10 minutes ago and is on her way in. Then teh pilot boat went to Magic, which is also on her way.

Good thing the cruise industry isn't required to post their "on-time" percentages like the airlines. Seems like a majority of the cruises in/out of this port are delayed.

Not the line's fault - I don't want them docking in bad fog.

Just an observation.

Voyager has docked in NOLA in thick fog. Galveston is port authority closing port. Of course turning the ship around in the fog would be dangerous though.

I know it's the port authority - and I'm OK with that.

My small group booked on the Rome to Galveston TA in November has already decided to hotel it in Houston on arrival day.

No sense running the high risk of missed flights after a 16 night trip!

Worth spending some time in Galveston after the cruise anyhow.
